linkSingle 25mm hexes and double hex (25x50mm) bases with a starfield texture printed on them has been added to the Bases page. The full sheet overlay that I built for the bases is also available on the left side of the page.

Nice. I like the inclusion of space. I may end up using that Texture sheet sometime. My friend and I keep planning on buying some Firestorm Armada fleets, but neither one of us ever manages to scrape the funds together. Real miniatures are fricken expensive! I do still have that 2.5D paper fleet that I pretended I was going to design. Lost my files, but I still have some of my prototypes. Also, I've gotten a bit more comfortable with GIMP, so the idea of texturing is less scary now. hmmm...

Have you looked at Slick's Terran fleet over at papermakeit.com?

I have them on a flash drive I think. I also have the awesome Black Sun Wars set rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/104114/Black-Sun-Wars-RPG-Starship-Starter-set. Sadly the rules and additional sets haven't ever materialized. I really liked my semi-modular quick building idea though, but I guess Its not worth taking time off other things to work on it right now. I never finish what I start anyway.

I liked your semi-modular quick building idea too. Not that I'd actually get around to building or playing with them, but I liked the idea.

For rules have you looked at GZG's Full Thrust? The author posted them online for free so he could focus on making minis instead of developing rules. They're quite good.

I downloaded them earlier this month actually. I found the official version, and a community version or something. Haven't gotten around to reading them yet. I have the Firestorm Armada rulebook. I got the 2 player starter set, and played some games with my friend. Its a dice-fest, but I like to roll dice. The movement system doesn't do a very good job of making me feel like its in space, but I do like how it can be tricky to get where you want sometimes. It might just be me sucking, but I have accidently gone into asteroid fields more than once To be fair, I was playing the team that uses rail guns that only fire straight ahead. Its hard to line up a shot, and not crash into stuff. I also have 2HW's 5150: Star Navy. I mostly got that one for solo play, but have yet to try it.
