I know I've seen figures like this around at 15mm. I think it was Junior General website. Also try googling "pike and powder figures" or "black powder figures."
I expect others on this forum can give you better suggestions.

1 - I think that all Permes historical sets can be fine. There are 9/10 "30 Years War" sets. Probably, but I'm not sure, also Permes' Polish winged hussars can be useful. 2 - Also the " Steel and Lace" set by Kimerlin is very good for this time period.

Only in black-and-white, and with no proper backs, but with a lovely period feel, Billy Bones Workshop on Wargames Vault does several packs suitable for the 17th century English Civil War period - figures, flat building scenery and terrain - including a free update pack, which is also a useful sampler (link is to the A4-sized paper pack; the US Letter pack is here). For some "action shots" of the miniatures and scenery in use, see this page of the Billy Bones website, while there's a link to a free sample PDF of some miniatures on this page. There must be more elsewhere, I'm sure!

Thank you all for your kind and useful replies! I found a lot of figures on Junior General, as suggested by cowboyleland: www.juniorgeneral.org/index.php/figure/figureList/renaissance#8Billy Bones' approach is extremely elegant! If I try that, I will probably add a light watercolor painting (preserving this lovely ancient look).

I consider Billy Bones a great author and a great producer. But I don't really like his stylistic approach to paper minis. I love color and single figure. His personal style instead offers figure's groups in black & white. So ... However I succumbed to his latest product. " Late Anglo-Saxon Army". Clear drawing and excellent colors, imho. Too bad he still doesn't offer individual figures ( imho again ). PS: I was about to forget ... However, there are several errors between front and back art

I don't know how I forgot about the Permes sets!

They wouldn't have backs, but have you looked at the epinal figure sheets at Patricia's bibigreycat.blogspot.com/?I'm sure you will have to do a lot of scrolling (unless you speak French)

I have not found anything XVII century yet, but there are a lot of wonderful figures! eg: flic.kr/p/edtJMG

Hello everybody, user Rhannon has kindly pointed me to Kavalergard. This Russian forum provides quite a few excellent minis of the period I am investigating. kavalergard.mybb.ruI attach a couple of examples.

... You might be also interested in CWF Nepal Charity Bundle - there are at least 2 sets included which might be useful for you (both are part of XVII-XVIIIC. PERMES historical sub-series): ... Then some other sets are incoming, including: Artillery Train, Lisowczycy (light cavalry) and Dragoons (both mounted and foot version) Your sets are the first that I have mentioned. And I am convinced that they are the best choice. Because they form a full series ( infantry, cavalry, artillery ...) and then they have a great value for any wargame, as number of figures, that as choice of military types, and especially so because all the figures are the same as style ( this is a problem often overlooked imho ). Now give me artillery trains, light cavalry and dragoons.
