I thought I had already written a topic about this ( great imho ) author. but I can't find it. If I have already written it, you excuse me, please. ;-) Considering that these are not current paper minaitures but old style paper soldiers, so many might not be interested in them ( but I know that mesper definitely appreciate them ), I knew Vittorio about a year ago, when I bought his paper soldiers' album. A digital version of this paper doesn't exist, everything is still as it once was . Their price is very affordable and accessible to all but probably the shipping charges are not a small thing, I don't know. Vittorio is a kind and helpful person who follows his passion at the highest levels. I think hi's one of the best paper soldiers'artists in activities ( I don't forget my friend Przemek, however ) These figures, as many old style paper soldiers, have no back art but the front art only just for make me dream. What else there is to say about Victor and his masterpieces it's on his personal website ( which is in English, Italian and French ): Gorini ArtI took this album ... and it is wonderful. I am very happy. But I don't like to bother you too much, so ( I don't really like Napoleonic figures, I prefer American military history, so you can see his breath Napoleonic figures on his website and personal Facebook page )

I love how full of action all the poses are. Very inspiring. + Indeed! Even if some figurines due to the specific, very dynamic posing and perspective (which btw makes much much tougher to made B-sides) are rather more suitable for RPG-like playing, diorama/scenery building or some sort of story-telling (as an illustration) than for typical wargaming, then these soldiers are full of energy, realistically posed and most important made with care for historical accuracy. Not to mention outstanding, detailed artwork and colouring! Awesome, just awesome!!! Paper soldiers FTW!

Indeed. 1 - Unfortunately I don't have the capacity to fully assess the very beautiful Napoleonic figures ( they are at least a dozen sheets ) 2 - You have discovered the problem about rear art. The dynamic, perspective and angle of inclination/visual of many figures, almost all, doesn't allow a correct drawing for the rear art. Vittorio did some tests, aftera my request ( he is really a kind and friendly guy ), with a Napoleonic infantryman and the result is really beautiful. But it is a soldier at attention, with a complete front view.

Last Sunday, in Siena, a Tuscan town ( ... was first settled in the time of the Etruscans (c. 900–400 BC) ... English Wiki ), there was a model exhibition. My friend Vittorio took part in an event of this type for the first time. He presented his paper figures. This beautiful, imho, Little Bighorn battle's diorama ( I'm looking for a better image ): ... and these two new sheets ( they are non-military paper figures ) created specially for the Siena's competition- These figures represent horses and riders that every year participating in the famous race horse, "The Palio" ( Palio di Siena - English Wiki ) ... Siena retains a ward-centric culture from medieval times. Each ward (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contrade_of_Siena) is represented by an animal or mascot, and has its own boundary and distinct identity. Ward rivalries are most rampant during the annual horse race (Palio) in the Piazza del Campo ... ( cit. wiki )

Ok ... probably not many are interested, but just out of curiosity ... I suppose that the author actually has never before publicly presented his figures ( I remember, as old paper soldiers style they don't have any back artwork ) ... So he had to find a way to strengthen them ( audience0s accidental contact , any transport ... )

Usually I respect people who try to save paper but in this case just doubling the page before cutting would have been so much easier.

Wow! The Agincourt ones are particularly amazing! If they came with backs, I'd be spending all my waking hours hunting them down.

Wow! The Agincourt ones are particularly amazing! If they came with backs, I'd be spending all my waking hours hunting them down. Well at least some of these can be more or less easily "upgraded" info full front and back - especially those drawn with simple perspective (ie for example en face not three-quarters). However I'm afraid then most probably A-sides should be also fully redone (because of low quality scans of original pages available), But even if good quality scans would be available IMO A sides should be redone with brand new colours and textures, so at the end A and B sides would match in style. I'm not sure but then despite technical and art issues some copyright and even ethics issues might also arise, as these "refurbished" minis would look and feel almost identical to the original artwork - so regardless of all due credits etc. couldn't be treated as derivative work. As I love Gorini's paper minis style such a project is quite tempting but man it would be hell of a time...

beautiful and inspiring! love the detail and poses. if these come in A3 they must be much taller than the usual 25-30mm, right?
in any case something to look for a standard when creating own minis :-)

I like very much, ever, all historical paper soldiers ( and of course all the not-historical papers minis also ). But the West ... I go crazy for the West. So there are these three new sheets ( they will come out next March ). They want to be ( and they are imho ) a tribute to Russell and Remington ( the two greatest western artists ) and this last image ... to give an overview:

They look really pleasing, and not unlike the tin flats from Germany in style.
