So to go with the pixel art terrain my partner and I have been working on, we've also got some figure flats to showcase. These are designed to be (mostly)low fantasy with some fun, quirky elements. Adventurers/mercenaries, soldiers, men at arms, monsters and the like. These should be usable for a variety of wargames/RPG stuff, but there is a quick-and-dirty tabletop game in the works as well (think the old GW Battle Masters meets Dust Tactics).
Here's some higher quality pics of the test builds we've got so far, strutting their stuff on some of the terrain we've already done.
Men at arms (with Hyrule Warriors and classic Lego Castle inspired coat-of-arms)
Men at arms archers
Northmen with a few shield variations
Some unruly orcs
And a close-up of one of the merc swordsmen, sans cloak this time.
Still fiddling with some of the colors for print on everybody a bit. Thoughts, questions, feedback?

Here's our basic man-at-arms design. With our figures we generally try to shy away from blacks and very dark colors, especially on the outside of a model. Got a few options I've been fiddling with at the moment for outlines on the guys with dark colors.
First is the unmodified flat with a black outline. Second is the figure with brightness/contrast adjusted a bit to make it stand out against the black. Third is a subtle white glow around the figure on top of the border. I've also fiddled with changing just the blacks and browns, but haven't really liked the results for it.
I like the armor/weapon/shield/black border of the left one, but the lighter grey of the legs and arm bits in the middle, since it offsets nicely from the black border. That my unsolicited 2¢ - Looks nice!
Vermin King: After 3 1/2 hours of updating, I got this xxxxxxxx Win10 computer runnable. I'm really going to miss the ease of Win 7. Amazing all the stuff I did here that is just gone ... except for what I posted

cowboyleland: It looks like you guys are busy, but I would like to point out that the "Ghoul Design Tutorial." which would start to answer bobsomething 's question from Aug 10, is MIA (again)
