As mentioned before I am in the process of creating a new site for my paper models (the old and the new ones coming up). Today I want to ask you for some feedback: what comes to mind when you hear "PAPIERSCHNITZEL". It's a German word ... actually Germans might not understand it. It's more an Austrian word ... but come to think of it, most Austrians would disagree. It really is a viennese dialect word. I'll tell you what it means soon but first let me hear what you make of it. Gut reaction! Emotional response!!!

Gesundheit! Or food, we're schnitzel fans in my house. Sorry, that's my honest gut reaction.

I like the associations with the Wiener Schnitzel :-)
A Papierschnitzel is actually a cut piece of paper. Like shredded paper or what is left over when you complete a paper model. Even the paper model parts could be called Papierschnitzel!
A schnitzel in general is something (small) from after a cut. So the food I guess refers to a cut piece of meat ... which then receives the flower, eggs and crumbs batter combo.
Anyway, this is what I have chosen to be my new site and company name. I am hoping that the non German speaking folks will be more intrigued than frightened by the word :-)
No need to rush over to the site yet. It's in the process of being setup and only has placeholder pages for now. It has a image of our cat though. I will start to set it up with the old papermodels.at files and then later begin showing my new stuff that I have been working on.
I'll let you know once it starts breathing :-)

"Paper-cuts", nice. I just referred a gentlemen at the Fat Dragon boards over to your Gondor models for a project he was starting.

the last time i wrote my own CMS system for my website. did not want to do that again. so i chose to try something existing. like wordpress. and i have to admit i am really impressed. i still had to learn how to hack my way around the defaults but after a week i think the site is nearing it's final form. images will change to something better. wordings might be rephrased and of course the real content has to be added. but the introduction looks ok to me now.
it will take some time yet until i have bonus models but if you guys have time go over and check it out and see if it makes sense. and don't be shy to tell me any stupidity or other wrongdoings that managed to sneak in.
and if ever you need help with wordpress, i think with the standard stuff i can help now :-)

In the Profile section of the forum here, you can put a link to your site as a signature. It never hurts to make it as easy as possible for folks to find it.
