I have Gimp, Paint.net, and Inkscape. I am wanting to rescale These Minis from 15mm to 30mm. The mod done by algoesnext measures out to be just over 3 inches tall (why, I don't know). When I selected the mini and tried to rescale in Gimp, it pixelized. Any ideas on how I can shrink these down without pixelizing?

Okay, I tried again with the 15mm version (which turns out is really 20mm) and rescaled by increasing it 50% and that seems to have worked better than reducing it.
Who knew?
Does this sound about right?

When I re-scale in GIMP I open the original and if it is not 300dpi I copy and paste it into a new document that is 300dpi. Then I scale to the size I want. Someone here told me that was not the smart way to do it, but it works for me.
Edit: and I do the scaling first because sometimes I can't stop it from pixilating and then there is no point doing anything else because I will never get it to a compatible scale anyway.

Someone here told me that was not the smart way to do it, but it works for me. That's how I do it. Almost always to a new document When I did those figures for papercuts, I found a file that was part of the designer's aids that had lines on it for the size. I opened a copy of that, pasted the vintage figures onto it and played with re-sizing until they fit the template. I used the scale up for those to determine the scaling on the carriage house (not exactly, but it got me close. I actually scaled it so that the door handles would be just above the waist and below the rib cage of one of Dryw's figures)
