I've been inspired recently by the work of several people here, specifically jjensen's advancements in fold-flat geometry (see his Vault model) and squirmydad's idea for building custom boxes for papercraft projects, and various of the submissions this year to the Papercuts awards...
I had an idea to combine all the best ideas into one model kitbash.
The Saltbox House #1 by Dave (which I got for being a patron) seemed like the perfect model - large interior space, only 7 pieces, and they would all fit in a cigar box.
Here's what it all looks like in the box, with the exception of the chimney, everything is 100% fold-flat and assembles with slot-tabs (friction fit or gravity fit):

I've continued to fiddle with using sticker paper on cigar boxes - here's the outside...

[My box collection is getting large...]

This is the only full-model shot, as I'd like to focus on the kitbashes - I'm not taking the time to do all the background and context setting for now...

First up! Clear windows! It's great having a cutter for cutting out 100s of little chads.
You can get a peek at the interior mods through them...

Removing the large-sloped roof exposes the attic and the second story...

Removing the attic floor:

Those thin walls are also slot-fit and can be reconfigured in different positions.

Oh! Removing each floor makes it a playable "battlemat"!

Though I am showing my finished model, I went through several steps to get there. For example, all the fold-flat conversion on the original kit was done with plain paper cutouts...

I then built the interior wall and floor mods and literally added them to the existing pieces...

Then, one at a time built out full-color versions of the walls and floors (this was before cutting out any windows)...
This incremental approach was great, as I could contentiously replace the lower-fidelity components with newer ones and work out any problems as I went.
Notice in this shot, the windows are still printed...

Finally I made a 3rd version of the walls (shown in most of the photos), with the panels cut out, and wall size sheets of acetate glued between the interior and anterior walls. This made the sides very strong and resistant to warping.

Any questions?
