Hi everyone, I'm looking for some glacier terrain and I haven't been able to find what I'm wanting. I can find plenty of mountains with snow but seem to be limited when it comes to solid ice. Ideally, I would like there to be sheer cliffs, some snow, some rock, and primarily ice as a 3d build. It would be really great if it could be printed on transparencies but beggars can't be choosers. If anyone knows of something like this I would appreciate some guidance. I'm willing to purchase within reason. I've considered going with ground tiles and using templates for a mountain set but wanted to check if anyone knows of something like this first.

Thanks for that, wyvern. I was also thinking Gimp to take other 3D pieces and giving them more of an ice feel. Nice to see that some of it is already done

FDG 161 winter terrain has some ice wall options in the same style as their caverns.

Thank you all! I really appreciate it. I have a growing collection at rpgnow and I think I'm going to try the gimp on a few fdg sets as a start. Right after I get a few other projects wrapped up.

Wasn't there an early demo of "Open Ground" that was mostly ice?
Edit, I checked, the preview tile is ice and Alisantana said her first set would be glacial but I don't know how far she got.

She did say it would be glacial...so not far or fast? Keep in mind that glaciers are actually pretty dirty. Here's some examples from my neighborhood; Exit glacier down by Seward- Mendenhall glacier down by Juneau-

Man your neighborhood looks cool (pun intended because I live in Tallahassee, in the armpit of Florida). Lots of green here right now and lots of humidity too.

In the winter the lake freezes in front of the Mendenhall glacier and you can skate up to it.

I've never been to Alaska, but would definitely like to get there one of these days. My folks went some years back and my mom took a neat photo of an eagle that had caught a fish too big to fly with so it did the breast stroke back to shore.

I won the $320 pot for catching the largest halibut of the week when I was up there. Defrayed a small part of the expense, but the main thing was that I earned bragging rights

My kids won't eat cod and I don't blame them. When I lived in Juneau, which is connected to Douglas island by a big bridge over a channel of ocean, there was an eagle who yanked a salmon out of the ocean that was a little too big for it. It was struggling to fly over the bridge with it's catch and gave up at the last minute and dropped the salmon on the hood of the car in front of me. Fun place to live.

linkHere is a 1926 Glacier expedition in Southeast Alaska. See how dirty the tops of the ice on the glacier is? I also like the little islands of stone that interrupt the glacial flow.

Wrangell glacier, I love how the runoff stream has cut that zig-zag path through it.

Sure seems like this idea has got its hooks into you squirmydad. Are you going to actually make some tiles?
