The theme for this month's HOARD is Robots vs Power Armor This can be any sort of miniature figure or model on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your entries, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category. Entries for the Hoard will be accepted until the last day of May, 2016. I apologize for some of my Titles and Descriptions on other Hoards, but this one is pretty straight forward. Clank of Steel as we pound our enemies into pulp, with the help of technology. Have fun!

Thought I had better bump this. I suppose I could throw my fiddly cyberman in here, but the two people that wanted the file from me gave up on it

I've got some sketches I did back in Highschool (has it been 14 years already?)...
Gotta clean them up and slap some color on them.

I'm not crazy about what I drew up today, but I'm trying out some digital drawing techniques with mixed results. I may redo, but I think it's working. I'm also my worst critic.

Found him. He's to the left of the Bad Robot Productions mascot, and above K-9

Here are the original drawings... finally got my dang scanner to work (for some reason, the Software Installer for my printer does not have the Scanner Utility, so I had to find the one for windows)

When I was waiting for a meeting to start last week that was having technical issues with the projector, I started doodling. I kept coming back to a 3/4 view. I'm glad to see that Dave has a walker that isn't straight front or straight side. I was wondering if this 'angled' approach had merit, and then Dave posts his walker. Maybe I'll have to work more on this

I think 3/4 view characters and objects look more natural on the table.

What got me thinking along those lines was that I was going back to do either Tommygun's Hopper or Zeppelin (and couldn't decide yet) and viewed his development of the Dredd robot. My question the whole time was that wouldn't it look better as a 3/4? And there have been a few items that designers were struggling with that I thought might be easier with corner views. So while I was waiting in the meeting, I played with it, but wasn't sure how the concept would be received.

Tidied up a bit (and muddied). I think it's ready for me to figure out the backside.

I bought me my very own copy of Monster Book of Manga Drawing (everyone should own a copy!), and so I might have to put some robot sketching experiments to work this month!

And I've already some butts for these cyborgs! OMG, simply just forgot about this project, so now at least I can re-use some hmm... parts from my Barbella mini-set and comic:)

My attempt at a 1987-ish Robocop was an epic fail. I think I will go generic

I did some 2.5d robot war machine doodles, made some notes on dimensions, scanned them badly, and drew up some rough layouts;

I had thought to do a maintenance robot in 3/4 view, but I saw two simple 6-legged transporter models from ABC back in the 70's or 80's that has me leaning towards a 6-legged walker tank or transport (or I could combine a few Hoards and do the steam-powered, insect-legged, Celtic mobile chapel. Uh, no).

Sort of a mobile bastion of injustice.

I was moving some things on my workbench this morning and came across this old robot model project that I'd forgotten about; Found the old .psd file, kind of icky looking; Applied a few seconds of what I've learned in the past eight years to tidy it up a bit; I'll continue with it and I should have two entries done before the end of the month.

So here's my leap back in with some classic Stormtroopers done in the style of One Monk's Terra Force. troopers by grendels_mother64, on Flickr Not exactly power armor....that is unless not being able to hit anything is considered a "power". Simple, chunky, and easy on the ink. Just gotta finish the backs and play with the scale a little. GM
