Sorry, I think I have a few threads on this section of the forum of various things I'm working on, so from now on, I'm just going to post all my previews under this thread, consolidate things. I've been working on tons of minis lately, mostly as a way to procrastinate from figuring out how to try and sell these (How do I properly format everything? Is there a wrong way to pdf? Is drivethru a good place to sell things? Jeeze I'm a coward.) Either way, I've got 2 complete sets drawn and tons of other partial finished sets and stray mini designs all over the place. First up, check out these large-base elementals I've been working on!
I'm also tinkering with some cavalry ideas, with removable riders. Here's a preview of one of the mounts: I hope you guys like what you see so far, and if there's any pdf formatting gurus out there, I don't suppose you'd let me pick your brain, I'd really appreciate it

Here's some test prints of the large fire elemental, with two medium elementals. I don't know if I'll include medium elementals in a set. Do you guys encounter them in your games? We've been using these guys in our D&D game, and they look great on the tabletop! I can't remember if I posted these guys here already, but here's some serpent-folk test prints:

To answer chiefasaur 's question: In our Pathfinder game my cleric summons medium elementals fairly often, though fire elementals can be a bad choice because so many opponents are resistant to fire damage.

In our Pathfinder game my cleric summons medium elementals fairly often Cool! Maybe I will include medium variants then! I've only had time to play 5E lately, so I'm not as familiar with the monsters available in other engines as I should be. I don't know about Pathy, but I can see fire elementals very useful against trolls and mummies in most D&D games.

I would always say that having different sizes of elemental is a bonus - just in case!!!
They are all looking great, can't wait to get my paws on some. Unfortunately I am not the person to be talking to about PDF formatting.... But I am sure there are plenty on here that would help.

Elemental monsters of every size like to show up on the battlefield. We've been using my medium fire elemental for lesser elemental summons, perhaps others will find them useful too. Also, if you PM me your email address, I can send you a few minis to test-print, if you like. You've certainly been a big encouragement to me on my mini-ventures

Yes, elementals of every size (and every element)! By the time you can summon a medium elemental trolls and mummies are not likely to be a concern, but you don't have to choose what you are going to summon until you actually summon it.

chiefasaur was kind enough to send me some preview copies of his minis. Here you can see them alongside their One Monk equivalents. Scale-wise pretty much perfect - especially given the OM ones have tabs and chiefasaur's don't..... Style-wise they are a bit different, but not so much as to preclude using them together on the table IMHO. Edit - I seem to be having the same problem with postimage as some other users!!!! I will post the pic to go with this when I can!!!! Edit(2) - but you can see it here on flickr in the meantime link to pic

Something I'm experimenting with is mounted units. I want to make the riders removable, so if they're dismounted in game, the rider can just be popped off. Since many of them will be mounted on monsters, this also makes the figure more versatile, in case the player needs to field a large wolf or dinosaur or something. I'll also include a "standing" version of the rider, in case they are dismounted. I'll post my test print/build as soon as I get a chance to put these things together, but here's a look a a mounted rider: I'm going to try to make the various beasts/riders somewhat universal, so riders can be placed on whatever mount is needed.

These look great. Love the art style. I hope you guys like what you see so far, and if there's any pdf formatting gurus out there, I don't suppose you'd let me pick your brain, I'd really appreciate it What kind of advice are you looking for? I'll start with one thing. Make sure you embed the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile into the PDF. If you don't, Acrobat will assume the color space is Adobe RGB, which is probably isn't. If you've ever printed a kitbash for something and the colors didn't match the original (really common with WWG kitbashes), this is probably why.

I got a chance to work on my cavalry models tonight. I really wanted to make my cav versatile for gaming. The rider pinches the mount with his legs and saddle. If the rider is killed in combat, just pop him off. If the rider dismounts, replace him with the "standing" version. Also, without the rider, the mount can be used as a monster. I'm actually pretty delighted with how the physical version of these guys turned out

I originally intended to make monsters a GM would need a lot of, like orcs and kobolds, so paper would be a cost-effective way to field a mob of rabble, but I've been getting a lot of requests for larger monsters like gryphons and dragons. I figured I'd take a stab at designing and building a 2.5D model. I think larger, winged beasts look better in 2.5D. Here's a shadow dragon I whipped up. The build is a bit messy, and I think I'll make her "skin" a few shades lighter (this is a test drive) but I'd say not a terrible venture into 2.5D. She stands on a "large" monster base.
Though, I do kind of like the really dark skin, she is a shadow dragon after all.

Thanks for all the love you guys, it means a lot to me Another dragon joins the ranks! I also made the shadow dragon's body color a little lighter. It's subtle, but she photographs a bit better and actually looks much better in person, but still retains that oily darkness. I'm having a lot of fun with these "model kits." Once the dragons are done, don't be surprised if I do other winged beasts, like gryphons and large demons...

No, the minis have a round tab on each side that, when flared out, makes a circle that fits inside the colored ring on the base. The colored ring is to keep track of identical monsters in tabletop games, a problem I've noticed my various gaming groups have run into. When I started making these, I was unaware of the current style that most minis on this site seem to have where they are standing on a "bar." Also, I like minis to be standing flush with their base. They can easily be trimmed to fit in a base like the minis from Kev's Lounge.
