Which two files were you going after? 1 - Himmelveil Citizens #2 2 - Firstlight paper minis set Unfortunately, those are two files that I happen not to own, so I am unable to help you there. Many apologies.

oldschooldm, I love this. This is really your own system that you are using WWG textures on, right? Would you share blank templates so that those of us who never got into WWG could make our own sets? That would be cool!

Hi guys,
Sadly my English is really rough. My technical skills also. So I can't understand what this guy is saying:
"... Get a VPS subscription, copy the data & point your domain to its IP. If you need an automated DNS redirector when the IP changes, I'll make one for you, when you give my brother what he paid for. ..." ( on WWG official facebook page ).
Is it legal? If it is, is it easy to do?

I am not familiar with VPS, either. VPN is a Virtual Private Network, so my guess is that VPS is Virtual Private Server, but I don't know.

I have opened a complaints procedure through PayPal. As I have written elsewhere I can understand everything but as a buyer, after I have paid for, and the supplier doesn't give me the goods paid for, this with one word is called fraud here in Italy. I don't care to lose just over seven dollars, but I'm very annoyed by the carelessness of the producer to other persons. The utter lack of interest in other people. I understand very well that in life there can be serious major problems, even I have many, but the first thing to do if an online shop doesn't work is to switch off the money button imho. And I do not want to disturb you all with my words about the death of the producer's passion. Now this is clear to everyone, only the fans ( and I'm not one of them ) love WWG. Its creators and producers lose interest completely.

It's a real shame. For several designers, I police the Pirate sites and let them know when their models are illegally distributed. At this point, I have very little desire to keep them from stealing WWG material. It used to bother me, but now, not so much

I don't know how long it will work. But now the site is online and products' download goes smoothly.

Hopefully it will work for a good long while.
I still think they should migrate their material over to OBS or something

I think migrating the material would take time that they don't have (or if they have it, they don't want to use it this way). They'd also need a strategy for migrating existing customers over to OBS. Migrating to OBS also will take a good chunk of their profits, assuming they did spend the time, though this lost money would be offset by not maintaining their own servers/store. The combination of those two things may not be all that appealing, assuming whatever is keeping them from a stable server gets resolved. The key is that their storefront software kinda just works, as long as the server stays running. That's probably the level of interactivity they are willing to tolerate - if they can be pretty hands-off, then let it live. If they can't, then let it die.
Since I wasn't about to accept their asking price to buy out their assets, I offered my free services to babysit the site and keep things running, without taking any profit from their sales or any ownership away from them. It wasn't something they were interested in. Maybe times have changed now, but now it's no longer something I'm interested in. If they get tired of this struggle and want the headache to go away, I'd only start considering it if they dropped their asking price like 75%, and were willing to assist customers in migrating over to OBS.

Grab it all. Now.
Sad to watch that business rot over the last 3 years, but it's clear that the owner has no understanding of two things, at least:
1) The Sunk Cost fallacy 2) Opportunity Cost
I'm no longer posting over there, ever. The insults to the community are intolerable.

I'm not sure I agree with you on raising either the sunk cost fallacy or opportunity cost as things Denny has no understanding of. Drop me a PM if you want to explain - I'd love to learn from people who have more experience than I do!
EDIT: Aah. As I went to get some coffee, the thought occurred to me that you're referring to the long-standing peculiar style of handling the community, as opposed to the current situation with the server and any decisions about what to do with the company. I could still be wrong, but I can understand your comment in terms of the former - not so much in terms of the latter.

If you are at-all considering buying WWG out, I'd be happy to share my thinking in a live skype/call. Otherwise it my analysis doesn't really matter. [This goes for anyone.] These two truths do stand out though: Selling you product only on your web site and having it be inaccessible 9 of 12 months - instead of selling to someone who will make sure the product is for sale year round IS all about misunderstanding Opportunity Cost. I've been told a price by a potential buyer. That's where the Sunk Cost fallacy comes in. I *am* assuming a lot there, hence the suggestion to "read up". :-) I'm not privy to this owner's thinking, but I've spoken to many owners who have really unrealistic (some even legally ignorant) attitudes about Intellectual Property and value. But, yes, a LOT of this is a reflection of the history of posting from WWG owners and staff on their boards over the years. But not all. Randy

Sorry to resurrect the thread, but recently tried to grab some previously purchased items, and ran into the site being down... Was also considering looking at 3d printed STL file stuff, like wylochs armory, or heroes hoard true tiles...
I ran into a guy looking for the build guide to "The Maiden", and I may be able to find the hard drive I saved that to, once upon a time, in a state, far far away... But after seeing some of the comments, I figured it was worth registering for an account, and asking here... The person in question had a Facebook icon of spongebob's patrick, and has posted on the wwg fb page... Bookmarked the thread here so I can return, and check updated information, if any... Somehow I feel wwg is unfortunately a piece of history...papercrafting for me was a serious amount of fun back in the day, and I am looking at getting back into some 2.5d type crafting, as well... I will have to peruse the site tomorrow on the main screen, as this on my phone is ok for a quick note, but not that easy to navigate around...
