Finally found two back-to-back hours to work in my office... I've got the template done and it builds pretty easy, so the texturing is underway. It'll complement the other stone buildings. I've been away from this stuff for so long!
Got all the bits textured and turned into PDFs, so technically instructions and promo pics are next... but then I'm thinking it wouldn't be too much more work to pull the buildings apart and allow for JUST the little tower or JUST the smaller building (though it's not NO work)... I don't think I can justify NOT doing it though!
Hoo-wee. I think I wrapped up the instructions, and fixed up the last of the PDFs. Tomorrow, I'll start printing and assembling the final work just to double-check everything, and I'll get the promo pics done!
Built the stand-alone house (sans tower) this evening. Found an error in one PDF and an error in one cutfile, and it turns out I left a page out of the instructions! I think this model is simple enough to be faster to cut by hand than by machine, but I have to test the cutfiles... So, tomorrow night I hope to have the time to assemble the stand-alone tower, and the combined building.
More tinkering... Stone frame for the stone buildings, with window and door placement allowed to match the 3d walls. I might leave it at that and get the other buildings done. I'll see about updating all of the buildings I've released so far with floor plans.
I was thinking I'd let you print out the second floor like this, but now that I think about it, I'll probably make the second floor have the roof covering the first floor, and I'll do a 3rd level roof for the tower part. That way, if you'd prefer the maps over the 3d building, or if you want to use them both together, you've got pieces parts to do it.
Fixed yet more errors (there's always something) and got two of the three PDFs done. I printed/robocut the main floorplan to make sure the cutfiles worked. Here they are affixed to foamcore ('cause I have a TON of white foamcore lying around the house now...) I printed everything with the grid on, 'cause I'm a griddy kind of guy.
berneart76: well, this is fun, (not) transferring all my papercrafting sets into the cloud. The stuff I got from DriveTrhruRPG was simple with their library desktop app,but my other stuff, sometimes with multiple duplicate copies is entertaining.

berneart76: Vermin King I usually use a mix of drybrush/watercolor/photocopy and occasionally posterizing at different levels of opacity.

berneart76: Vermin King, that's similar to the enhancing that I do on my texturing. I've found that sometimes I need to scale up or scale down the image (usually by 50 or 25 percent down or 200 or 300 percent up) to make get the enhancements to look "right"

Vermin King: On the zebras, I did multiple enhancements and cartoon filters and used them at 100%, and they still didn't look that different than the photos

Vermin King: When I make a figure or terrain piece based on a photo, I clean it up and align things to look 'right', then I create another layer and do enhancing and cartoonizing on it. I then adjust opacity over the photo image until it looks good. On the zebras,

Vermin King: berneart76, do you mean giving them green or purple manes and tails? and a few piercings? maybe a cig hanging out of their mouths?

Vermin King: cartoonizing a zebra doesn't do much

ignatious: Actually I was referring to the two previous posts. I was trying to be subtle in order to sublimate the crassness. Read them again, but in Mel Brooks voice while he is winking, and nudging the person to his right.

Vermin King: Sure. Euphemize us

ignatious: would anyone care for a euphemism?

cowboyleland: We hadn't had snow for a few days. Last night the plow came down my street and did nothing but fill every ones driveways back in. Just for practice, I guess.

Vermin King: In KC we had an ice storm (with thunder sleet) the other night. Left things drivable, but last night the plow came down my street. They took all the rough edges off. Might as well have ran a Zamboni...
