Very nice! You should take some wood glue and a bag of bird sand and finish the desert tiles with it. Take medium sized brush, mix the wood glue with some water (3 parts glue, 1 part water), and paint a medium thick layer onto the floor boards. Put the tiles into a big shallow box and "flood" them with the bird sand. Shake the box a little, so the sand gets everywhere, and let it all dry. Then take out the tiles, slightly slapping them in the process, so any extra sand falls off and into the box. That's it. You can put the collected sand back into its original bag and save it for another time...
