I've long thought this would be a fun magic ship to have for an adventuring party to zip around in, but it doesn't exactly look like it'd be ideal for grid based tactics. Any ideas on how to modify it and still keep its fun unique look? Might even just make one for a fun desk piece and see what I can do with it, but you guys have a lot more experience and knowledge than I do I thought I'd get your thoughts before I used up a ton of red ink and cardstock. XD

Fitting the boat to a grid depends on the size of the grid. I suggest messing with scale until it "fits" into an even number of squares. Boats themselves don't lend themselves to being gridded. So often little boats to scale should be two squares wide and then you can't put a figure in the prow which is exactly where everyone wants to sit. I like gridless with measuring sticks for my ship based adventures.
On the other hand, maybe it's the herd that is crazy.
Vermin King: Not the style you are looking for, but try a search for 'paper theatre' or 'paper theater', and you will find a few pages of epinal figures. Not many, but I know there are a few

shep: Does anyone know where to find decent individual minis of late Roman Republic era civilians? From senator to slave, every mini would be great, as long as they are not legionaires or generals or other military (Praetorian Guard and Roman Vigiles excluded)
