Started working on a new "pay what you want" set for for drivethrurpg. A most underrated race, the hobgoblins. Early sketches are going well. 8r

Love them!! Reminds me of the old Citadel "Fantasy Tribes" hobgoblins.... A most under-rated series of classic minis in my opinion.

Mike, you appear to have the same paint scheme that I used on my figures

Love them!! Reminds me of the old Citadel "Fantasy Tribes" hobgoblins.... A most under-rated series of classic minis in my opinion. I own two minis from that range 83 i think, a skeleton with a scimitar and a hobgob female archer. So much more character than the newer GW stuff. The old school is very much my inspiration =).

cheers, the sketches are, technically 28mm (eye line). But as its all digital i can zoom in, its alot easier than drawing on paper at 28mm. If you look closely on the sketch picture you can see the ruler.

Even in the graphics program it is hard to draw so little figures despite zoom in. You have to use a very small brush. I'm right?

Yup , pencil brush at 0.5 for the sketch, and using eraser jump from between 0.5 and 1 brush size. Really with the sketch i dont do them that tight as when i do the final lineart its all in reverse. I block out the area in black and draw by removing ink with the eraser.

The minis are great! As always. I'm curious how you are shading / lighting their characters. Do you have plans to do a guide?
