So twice now I have tried to make a post putting all my temoproum oblitus stuff in a single post. After about an hour of uploading over 100 images of models and resources at one point I have the tendency to hit the back browser instead of add image when you do that it erases everything but the text... so hours of uploading wasted, TWICE!! that being said I have been holding onto Temporum Oblitus for a long time with the idea that someday .... only someday has come and gone and probably always was in the distant past. Like so many things in my life I think I was born into the wrong era, and here I am opening yet another new chapter of my life feeling very much like a dinosaur in the gaming industry. Even on the Cardboard forums i'm kind of old and out dated LOL I was talking with squirmydad last night and finally voiced what I had been thinking for a long time now. If squirmydad wants to put anything and everything I have made on onemonk.com/ I would be honored to make that happen! when I came on this forum and into the community all I wanted is to leave it a little better than when I got here. I hope I was able to do that. if anyone is interested in the Temporum Oblitus stuff I would be happy to send it to you but understand I worked on it for 5 years so there is A LOT of stuff. I don't need the burden it has become anymore. I don't think I will be doing much with any of it splinterwoods either, I get LOTS of hate from the TTWG community and I get passing 'meh from the other groups. I don't think I will be doing much with paper craft for a while. right now it's not conducive for where I am and how I am living. If I come back to it later it will only be for free personal fun. I still have a simple project I am working on it's actually just for me really but anyone can play it, it's called 86'ed I'll tell you guys more when it's finished (don't expect it any time soon) you guys have been great friends, and as much as I don't know how much I will be coming back here I am happy to chat with any one of you. Hit me up on FaceBook www.facebook.com/aaron.hopkins.7923 or shoot me an e-mail amadeushopkins@gmail.com I'll see you around the watering hole. so now I will walk elegantly into the sunset, trying really hard not to run into things and trip over stuff because the sun is in my eyes and I can't see anything .....

I think that you are leaving a lot un-said, but always know that we appreciate all you have done and your vision of gaming and art.
And you seem to be a pretty okay person as well.
I don't do FB, but I hope you realize that if you just want to chat we'll be here.
Take care of yourself, and drop by when you can.

You've been a great contributor here! Thank you for everything you've shared. You've made so many really creative minis. I hope you continue to lurk around here and maybe at some point you'll be bitten by the bug to do some stuff just for fun. Many times I have had to walk away for a while just for my own sake. I don't do a lot of Facebooking - I am on mostly to see the pics my wife posts of our vacations and stuff... But, I'll shoot you a friend request there!

If you want to have your stuff online, but aren't too worried about it not being a high tech, high spec shoppe style web site, I can offer some space. I have a website running from my own server shoved up on the wall next to my router modem. I can't even offer your own domain name /yet/, but it is possible - I just need to learn how to share a single IP address between two domain names (apparently it's pretty easy). PM me if you're interested.

Bummer. I don't know much about those projects you mentioned, but I always liked seeing the models you'd post.

I'm sorry to hear that your stepping back, and even more so to hear that you've been getting flak from the TT scene for your incredible models... I've been using your Splinterwood Elves for a campaign here locally and everyone's only had great things to say.
You're a fantastic designer and artist, and I appreciate your work. The test models for your Ruskin Berserkers (right name?) you made available were actually the first figures I ever made, and I've been excited to see your work progress since. Honestly, your work is what inspired me to start creating my own minis.
Thank you for your contributions here, and I wish you the best.

I think your artwork is very nice and I hope you continue to draw.
I am also surprised at the TTWG comments, you might have been presenting it to narrow minded folks. Some people have so much money and time invested in one, and only one system, that they are not capable of learning or appreciating other variations.
I like the Splinterwoods skirmish system and the ability for units to shift from rank and file to skirmishers. The magic system might have been a been a bit dice intensive, but with enough play testing those things can be streamlined. I think your games just need to be worked on by a design team. You were spread too thin doing the art, the rules, the editing, the storyline fluff and more.
Ultimately, it is important that you do the things that give you peace and contentment.

Hi Aaron I waited a few days to reply to you although I read it almost immediately. Initially stupidity makes me react violently. So I waited a while and I hope that your discomfort in the meantime has been declining. Someone calls them "narrow minded folks" but they are much more lethal and have a more meaningful name. Stupid (or idiots, as you prefer). And they are very dangerous because in the end they will kill the world. Always they are the bearers of the "only truth". But anyhow we still have to endure them ( at least up to a possible zombie outbreak, in which case the Nature will make her selection ). Money? Time isn't money. Skills ( to paint as a monkey in most cases, tasteless colored plastic or metal pieces ) isn't money. Unfortunately often art of drawing is not money. But this skill, which few people have, is definitely superior to anything I've said before. Money or no money. You have this skill. this gift ( imho it is ). Many others ( like me ), but all the stupids, don't have it. This is a big difference when you talk with others, always remember this ( it's always easy to talk about things, very often it is much less easy to do the same things ). In any case the most important thing is seen from me almost every day on your facebook page ( and for me this is definitely a pleasure ). People, wildlife, landscapes, stories ... Life in short. This is the most important and best thing for you ( and it should be so for everyone ). And to me it seems very fine. From our hobbies, from our passions we can take breaks, leave them behind forever and changing interests ... They can be everything except an obligation. But you remember that, when and if, you will have pleasure and interest to draw again there will always be many people who greatly appreciate your works. For now I wish you to do only the things that make you happiest. Ciao :-) Giorgio PS: Don't share anything for free. You know how I think about this subject. "free" doesn't exist in nature. :-D The free things become a right but are almost never really rightly appreciated. If you must you take a few more hours, preparing the products and throws everything on RPGNow ( not free or PWYW ). In the end even if nobody buys you don't receive less than your usual free stuff.

Hi Aaron,
sad to hear that our community is going to loose your talent and your kindness. I hope you will come back to say hello, we all will be very glad. I personally don't like social networks, I'm a very old fashioned and reserved person (you know, phone calls, written letters ah.. some emails), but I'll try to get in touch every now and then... I have a lot of your stuff waiting on my HD, including all you official PIGMI games stuff I bought some times ago. I think it will be very kind if you decide to share your work with our CW community, but you have to feel comfortable with whatever decision you'll take.
I don't know what TTWG actually is, I think is something related to metal and plastic miniatures... I'm both cardboard and "classic" miniatures collector and modeller, so... what the matter with that? I like both and I think there's no reason to be unkind and unfair with the one or the other. There are good stuff and there are bad stuff, whatever it is made of.
Take care of you and live your life to the full.
Alessandro
