I just watched the latest video from Wyloch's Armory, in which he demonstrates a new technique for mounting groups of cardstock minis for miniatures wargaming. I thought I recognized the figures in the demo, and at about 2:40, Wyloch credits them: they're the Evil Knights from Mayhem in Paper! He didn't link it, but he did mention that they are available at DTRPG, so maybe Squirmydad will get some business out of the appearance. He also mentioned that they are "especially great" because they have back art, suggesting to me that as great as he is at what he does, Wyloch may not be all that up to speed on state-of-the-art paper minis. In any case, congrats, Squirmydad!

Keep in mind, if you have a side-view of the subject, then it makes sense that both sides of the miniature look identical, plus the facing of the miniature is also clear.
So a unique back isn't a necessity. It just dictates whether or not you will be orienting the figure 90 degrees out of phase to establish "which way is front facing."
I'll get a link in that video description. Yeah, I hope they do get a business bump because their product is phenomenal.

Except if you just use a profile mirror all your figures switch from being right handed to left handed depending on which side of the fig you are looking at. It probably doesn't bother most people, especially for mass battle games, but it makes me crazy at the RPG table.
