Ok, so I let Ramses out on his own this afternoon. I followed him for a bit to make sure he was ok, and then let him wander. I went out about every 45 minutes to call him, in case he wanted to come in. Once he was across the street, exploring a neighbour's yard. Later, he was confronting a local cat while a third cat watched. When I went out around 3 hours later, he was ready to come in. He had quite a day. Adventure cat!

Calico has been having adventures coming inside. Last year, I let her come in when it got below 10F, and she was willing to come in this year during the Arctic mess. She is now willing to stay in all night instead of meowing to get out at 2:30 in the morning. With weather improving, she'll probably go out tomorrow and stay out thru Christmas. But she is a sweet heart

Sweet cats. I have 2 cast but they never go out because I have streets close to home. Citys are not good place for home cat.

With a new tom in the neighborhood, Calico is spending more time inside than normal. Bootsie and GrayC are both strictly indoor cats

One of the cable channels (I think it was National Geographic Wild), put gps tracking devices on the domestic cats of a town in England. Maybe you can get Ramses and Calico to wear a GoPro camera and see what their day is like?

What I'd really like to do is something like that on my parents' dog. He was gone for over 24 hours and when he limped back home, he'd either been hit by a car or kicked and stepped on by a cow or horse or something. And now that he's healed up, he was gone for seven hours again yesterday afternoon and evening with the neighbor dogs. Are those cameras water-proof?

I'm pretty sure that you can get a model that is just about anything proof. The only concern would be the need for a breakaway collar to make sure he didn't choke if he got his collar caught on something. Here is a link to a specifically made pet camera: Digital Pet Collar

Wow, that's cheap, but none of us have DVRs ... The camera is the DVR. It looks like you can just connect it to your computer using the provided USB cable.

I remember this program in tv about street cats. I think it was about to many cats in city. They give them cameras to see where they go most to catch them and sterylized so population get smaller. My cat run away once and after hours of looking for her I take free day from job. I was looking all neiberhood and nothing. And suddenly she go back in 2 am under my door. Wish to know what she was doing all day lol

"The lion in your living room" on Netflix was pretty neat, I think it was about an hour long, they had GPS on cats in one part showing how some cats have a neighborhood as there territory and some just go next door
