Hi guys, 10 years ago I made the first prototype of the Samurai Castle and today I released it Obviously I did not work 10 years on it - had to do other work in between - but if still feels like a long development. Actively I worked almost all of last year on this series. You can get it here. (Regular price $10 but see discount code below) To celebrate the finale of this series for the rest of the month (JAN 2017) I have a discount running for the following items. Bridges and Lanterns ($1.00)SCB1 Tower ($4.00)SCB2 Gates and Walls ($5.00)SCB3 Keep ($7.50)I hope you enjoy this set. If you do, I would appreciate any thumbs up, ratings and reviews you find the time to apply Chris P.S. If I have forgotten things or you find errors or have other ideas of updates/feedback (as usual) please let me know. I'll try my best to fix everything ASAP!

Even though I really don't have much knowledge or experience with Asian RPG settings, and no anticipation of an Asian-themed game any time soon, I'm picking up the whole set for one reason: Having followed its development in the forums here, I feel like I've already invested time and emotion into it. Also, it seems to have really smart engineering solutions for difficult problems--fold-flat design, figures on slanted surfaces, finished interiors, moveable door pieces--that I really want to try out. Oh, and third, it's really freaking cool looking. And fourth, an almost fanatical devotion to the pope! A-MONGST...MY REASONS...ARE...already emotionally invested in it, really smart engineering, freaking cool looking, an almost fanatical devotion to the pope...and NOTHING! There is NO fifth thing! (NNNNNnnnnoobody expects the Spanish Inquisition in a thread about Japanese keeps!)

Thank you very much! You will have the 5th reason being you are supporting a struggling artist trying to make his way as a paper model designer in this rough world :-)
And thank you also for reminding me. I completely forgot about the inner side of the doors!!! Need to add an update :-)

Awesome work on the Castle. I had to buy the entire set as well. Someday there will be Samurai and Ninja running around on and in this castle. It may not be soon but someday!

Just downloaded the files for all the models (thanks again for the discount!). Haven't started building anything yet, but I have to say, the instructions are very thorough and clear! That's great, because these are more complicated models than I've ever built before, I'm pretty sure, and it will be my first attempt at fold-flat.
Great job!

I think you will find that it is not really that complicated. I think only the roof requires good photos of the steps. All the others you will find the hang of it very quickly. But if you do have questions, just let me know. I have already made requested photos of details if there was something uncertain.
Oh, and big thx for getting my set!!! :-)

Hi lightning, Thank you for your generosity. I had also forgotten the temple ( but I had bought any of your other products ). Why there are two different producers? Papierschnitzel and papermodels.at Also desert fortress and desert village are your productions? Ciao :-)

papermodels.at is something I did 10 years ago. It started with my boy and me reading the LOTR books and then seing the movies and then starting collecting and painting the GW figures. AND THEN we found tabletop gaming scenery and I started making terrain pieces out of paper. And living in Austria I came up with the incredibly creative name "papermodels.at" :-)
Then the last 10 years work life and him growing up made me pause my paper crafter career, but when I relaunched myself last year (actually the whole thing was born a year before that) I wanted a new name because "papermodels.at" felt like it kind of had died to me. So that is why now I have the new "Papierschnitzel" identity.
Funny enough, the desert village and fortress are still selling strong, so my assessment about the aliveness of papermodels.at was totally wrong!
And don't ask why I am lightning here. That is a altogether different story :-)
