Way back in my collegiate days, I purchased a copy of a fun little board game called The Hunt: The Ultimate Arena Sport. My friends and I had a great deal of fun playing this game, but as we all went our separate ways after college, and reality set in, I had to sell my copy of the original rule book and the supplement. About a year and a half ago, I managed to find that the author was still selling copies of his game on amazon and I purchased it again. The original game came with paper cutouts that you could photocopy and attach to matte board and make chits out of them, but now that I have been here a while, I think that making a 3d board would be quite fun and I would like to use some paper flats for the pieces.
The main problem I am having is that I can't seem to find the correct genre of flats that would go well with this game. I also need to find some "red shirt" type minis as well.
If you have never heard of the game, it sort of combines a maze, Running Man, and Car Wars together in a quick (60-90 minutes + 10-15 minute character creation) game for one-offs. Kind of an American Gladiators with big guns and other nasty things. I'm not sure if post-apocolyptic, cyberpunk, or dystopian future would work. I have scanned the page with the tokens on it and can let you folks see what I am talking about if need be.
Any help would be great!!

That is the reason why I started my papercraft hobby. I searched for a possibility to pimp my old Sopwith boardgame (highly recommended). And well... I am still looking for usable components to create this game in 3D and practical transportable... The Hunt sounds funny but it seems not available in germany or as pdf :-(
Greetings! Wiesel

Sounds interesting, you should post some pictures and a review here; Boardgamegeek

I've not understood if this is more a "sport game" or more a ... "shoot and run" game. OT: ...Sopwith boardgame (highly recommended)... Info needed Basically, it comes down to being a type of "game show" where the players try to eliminate other players and the GM controlled cannon-fodder. Bad puns and witty quips give points as well (at the GM's discretion). What was the name of that video game??? It had the announcer saying "Big Money...Big Prizes!". Something along those lines.

Well, with a bit of re-theme (less sci-fi, more "near modern") i think that the Survivor minis from darkmook could do the trick: it's a zombie-apocalypse line plenty of different "ordinary" ppl, but the non-zombie ones can be used for anything which requires just a "modern" person with a weapon (ie: Blade Runner style)

But what I am trying to do is to find the correct minis to work with the game as it is. It is supposed to be a dark near-future type of environment. But the players are similar to current WWE Superstars and the Bad Guys are supposed to be able to take on all of the Players one-on-one and win about 55% of the time. There are also a lot of "prey" pieces out there (basically red shirts that die in droves). I can find the figs that I want for the prey, but it is a little more difficult to find the right ones for the players and the Bad Guy. Here is a picture of the cover that the game comes with to give you sort of an idea of what I am talking about: Hope this gives people ideas of what minis to use for this game. I really could use the help on this one. EDIT: Just remembered the name of the video game I mentioned earlier. It's Smash TV. If you've seen that, then it is a little on the lines of that as well.

The man on the cover there reminds me a bit of the standees that came with Worldworks' Platform Command: Red Sector. They have six armoured marine types in four different colours. And the scenery that came in that too would probably be of use to you if you were setting up a Running Man style table. Of course, you would have to catch Worldwork Games' website when it was operational....

Of course, you would have to catch Worldwork Games' website when it was operational.... I have both Platform Command and Platform Command: Red Sector, so I am good on that front. The real problem I would have using WWG's tiles is that I would need 1" walls and posts/anchors every inch to make the maze reconfigurable. I'm still working out that part, but I think I have an idea for it. Originally, I wanted to use Christopher Roe's Derelict II Megaset to do all of it, but trying to just do a single 7x7 tile was an absolute nightmare. The squares would never be correct, so I scrapped that idea rather quickly. His Module Core set has flat walls, but they come in only 3" and 6" lengths. With that in mind, I think I am going to try using a few parts from the Ultimodular Box that I created for the Three Plains wargame. Ulti-modular BoxI can use the longer strips of this to make the outside walls and the shorter ones to make whatever configuration that I need for the interior walls. Now I am going to have to texture them in a concrete type of texture and maybe try to put a camera lens in the center of each one (this is a "televised" sport). Since I am on my "weekend", I don't have access to a printer at the moment, so it will have to wait a few days until I can get to one. But until then, I can play with the textures and see which one I like the look of the most.

1) Sopwith Info: I think Sopwith is the best 2D Flight Simulator ever. 6 Planes (Germans against Britains) try to shoot the other party down. Very simple programming-mechanism a la Robo Ralley without cards. The gameboard is a simple hex-grid with 9 hexes each side. The problem is that you need planes, that are sometimes stackable and not that big (i think the hexes xan ba max. 3cm wide). It's published in the 70th. See: www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2105/sopwith. But don't use the markers for the game! Use the chart that you can download on BBG! 2) I build a heroquest 3D board with my own wall system (that I still haven't published here because of the time it takes), where I simply fold a double wall an tuck the walls together with no glue, just with a kind of zig-zag and slits. I don't know if this could help, because I did'nt find a picture of the material you need, sorry.
