I finally got enough figs cut out to give Dungeon Plungin' a quick try, but derned if I forgot to grab the phone I have all my pics on. I'll get them up here tomorrow. Also going to be doing some coloring of the mages and clerics I have to represent each of the 11 different schools of magic in the game and I'm even going to try to put together some spells for the 6 schools that didn't make it into the beta test spell book.

I've been super curious about Dungeon Plungin' for a long time. I downloaded an unfinished rule set (in several not-finished .pdfs) from the Oversoul website, but I'm not sure there's quite enough there to play the game. It looks like the Oversoul forum has been dead for several years, which is sad, because DP was looking really promising. I wish someone would return to finish out the game, or pass on the rights to someone else to do so.
I'm looking forward to both your pics and your report on your play experience.

I would lke to pick up the torch and continue on, but I don't have a group to playtest anything with, nor can I draw worth a hill of beans, so I guess I will just have to be satisfied with the corpse of DP and pray that they will come back and finish it off at least.

I will do that squirmydad. Thanks for the info. I had no idea where to go from the dead boards. Would you happen to know if Armor Grid Games (I believe it is dagger and wafflem[??]) have something similar?

Okay. Here are the first pictures from my initial game. I know I screwed up on some of the rules as I was playing, but that is what these beginning games are for. After I run a few more games and get the rules down a little better, I will post a review about the game. So far, though, it is a fairly nice system and pretty streamlined and easy. The basic components for the Level 1 Quest: Dogfaced Demon My band of adventurers. A Cleric, a Thief, and 2 Fighters. Some extra gold and potion tokens I got from Gold Coin Tokens at Kev's Lounge ( bravesirkevin) The minimum amount of baddies for the dungeon Various tiles, doors, and treasure chests And finally, all the current available rulebooks and various sheets needed. Unfortunately, I forgot to take any pics of the game that I was playing as I was pressed for time right then. I'm going to re-run this quest and make sure to give a turn-by-turn account of what happened. I am planning on running this quest as a solo about 5 or so times, starting with the basic rules (movement, seek and disarm, hand-to-hand combat, and PC demise) and then add a new rule or two each time (ranged combat, magic, higher starting stats/stat points, etc). More later, but right now, I hear a home-baked pizza calling my name!!

I was going to say that ArmorGrid has a forum, that I see now they haven't visited since November. I hope they're okay. :/

I'm a member of their forums as well and I haven't seen anything from them in a long while. I guess they just got tired of working on the game or the RL got in the way and they had to let it go. Either way, it is still a sad story to see something that looked and ran as great as it did, just be left to die a slow death. Maybe what I am doing will help revive both games and maybe even a few more by bringing them back into relevance and the public eye again.

I remember playing Dungeon Plungin' with a friend a few years back. The rules felt complete, the enemies had working behaviors to target party members and, overall, it was a nice dungeon exploration game, if a bit fiddly (can't remember the details but I do remember it took a while to play).
