If you are in the Rolla, Missouri area on October 29, you might want to go online and order tickets. It's going to be on the campus of Missouri S&T You realize, of course, that the series was off the air, and even the movies were getting old before these college students were born ...

You realize, of course, that the series was off the air, and even the movies were getting old before these college students were born ... Yes, but Shatner's ego is eternal. As ugly as he was toward Star Trek fans and his fellow castmates for decades, it's REALLY hard for me to watch him insert himself into everything to do with Star Trek now that he's got nothing else going on. For like 30 years, he was totally disdainful of Star Trek fandom, and mocked the other members of the cast for showing up at cons. Now, he's jamming himself onto every panel at every convention, as a "moderator" if the panel is about some other ST franchise. No, Bill, not every answer to a fan's question to a member of the TNG cast needs you to follow up with a story about your stupid horse ranch. If he hadn't been cast as Kirk, all he'd be now is the guy in the Twilight Zone episode with the gremlin on the airplane wing. But hey, I'm not bitter...

Don't forget his singing career and his rendition of "Mister Tambourine Man."

Maybe it's a good thing that these students were born after all the drama

Maybe it's a good thing that these students were born after all the drama Well, I suppose the harm Shatner can do these days is pretty limited. It's not like we'd elect a narcissistic, delusional blowhard like him to be president or anything...

Don't forget his singing career and his rendition of "Mister Tambourine Man." That's three minutes and twenty-four seconds of my life I'll never get back... BTW, if you've never heard Shatner's Mr. Tambourine Man...however bad you imagine it could be, I assure you...it's far, far worse.

I do think Pine's Kirk is written better than the original was. He has way more depth. It's one of the things I enjoy about Abrams' Star Trek vs the original, though I like the look of the old one better.
