I'm looking for minimalist buildings and terrain. Sort of like Cherno's stuff, but even more minimalist. Any ideas?

cherno's stuff is amazing. Some of his stuff is available models printed in black and white. Part was his own design. The black and white with the odd contrast really makes for a unique feel. He's still a member here. Throwing in the posters really made things look 'complete'.

I'd be interested to see a minimalistic approach for a large and reasonably detailed scene. Black & White would be very printer friendly (if using black paper, of course) but I'm not sure which kind of environments would work with the style and which not. One idea would be a cyberspace/matrix like virtual reality worls very everything is low poly and flat-shaded anyway. A similar approach I always wanted to do is to replicate the style of early 3d vector games like Hunter (1991) whith a low color variety and very low poly models. I can imagine these being very fun to build. These models are easy to do yourself with Pepakura.

You could avoid using ink altogether on this as those colours look like construction paper tones.

I'm not at all skiled in PS or Pepakura, but I'll check out the latter.

Alas, Pepakura is for Windows and I use a Mac. Are there any simple, box-like, minimalist building and streets out there in monochrome?
All I found thus far are the white models used for Shanty Town from Runestone.
The "look" I'd be going for is something like the video game Superhot, if that helps.

I hadn't heard of that game, so I looked it up. Almost all the images were black and white. I think you'd be able to grab a model you like and pick out the outline color and drop on a clean page in whatever is your favorite image software.

What do you recommend? I just downloaded GIMP. Trying to figure out how it works. What would result if I simply printed out buildings and tiles in B&W? I'm using FedEx to print, if that matters.

I think cherno just upped the contrast and printed black and white on these, cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/thread/4185/future-noir-update-first-gameJust printing in greyscale wouldn't be quite the same effect. If you want it to look more like that game, assuming all the 'lines' are the same color, you can select that color and copy/paste onto a new page, and have a white building or vehicle of that geometry. Or if you want more white and no lines, you can build it inside out, like the didwallpaper models. I did Shakespeare's birthplace from there. cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/thread/7320/shakespeare-birthplaceIt is interesting building inside out. Is there a particular model you are wanting to do?

Indeed, each image was carefully edited by changing brightness and contrast, and then using the threshold option in PS, which makes each color either black or white, with no gradient colors at all. Some images, especially the street tiles, were done in parts because a manhole cover would require a different setting than the pavement, which in turn differs from the lane marking, etc. By the way, if anyone wants to play an updated work-in-progress version of Hunter I created years ago, here it is, just unzil and play: www.dropbox.com/s/ba0jzraxwqfatym/HunterHD.zip

Would just printing to B&w produce what this fellow did? As far as buildings, anything modernish/sci-fi with the walls all white and window and doors black. Literally as simple as it gets. Might use red and blue acrylic "holo" Infinity figures for the models.
