Good day,
I've been looking for cavemen / prehistoric minis without too much success. The ones I found (including Arion Games, Junior General, Caveman Clash) are all not quite what I am looking for. Any suggestions appreciated.
cheers John K.

I've got a bunch of caveman figures, got them from a guy through the now defunct miniaturewargaming.com forum, but they're <whisper>plastic</whisper>.

These look like they are based on Boritz/Patric Cruisau (sp?) figs, which reminds me there are some wild west "indians" in an old forum hoard that might work for certain kinds of cro-magnons.

I have this set. They're pretty swell, and like most of David's sets, they have layers that change up the color schemes, so you can make tribes or teams. In addition to the cultists and terrain (trees, bushes, rocks) David mentioned, you also get a really big cobra--which is one of the ones I recolored in my Mobs of Mods thread. They're the last pic in the "Okum Animals" post in that thread. So yeah, get these if you need cave men. Additional info: There are 2.5 dinosaurs by Vermin King and an elephant bird by myself in the January 2017 Forum Hoard, if you are looking for prehistoric monsters. I'm not sure if the final hoard included all the dinos, so you might need to go to the submission thread for that hoard to get the full set. The forum hoards have the advantage of being free, too! Also, there's a swell new set of dinosaurs just released by from Trash Mob Minis, by our own chiefasaur: Prehistoric Panic! This set includes 5 live dinos, 6 dino zombies, and 5 dino skeletons. And there's MadunTwoSword's dinos, on his Gaming page at DeviantArt. Hope that helps.

I went plastic minis for my Cavemaster campaign. I started with mirrored standees, but I wanted the minis to be more 3d for the setting. I'm glad I did. I found lots of stuff in old Heroclix and Mageknight bins. I also used GW chaos barbarian types.

I used those for the devolved scientists in the Star Trek Adventures mission "Rescue on Xerxes IV" (it's in the core rules as a first adventure) which was the first mission of the living playtest...

"...old Heroclix and Mageknight bins..." Where are these bins of which you speak?

There's also some stone age "tribal" types (with shadowed backs admittedly) over on the "Mixed Fantasy" sheet on the Dark City Games website.... www.darkcitygames.com/downloads.phpI love Dario Carollo's art, especially the stuff he has done for Runequest/Glorantha. Just wish there were backs for his paper minis!!

I have this set. It's quite cool. Worth picking up for the cavemen alone.
