tweetsie.com/explore-the-park/3d-train-town-sets/I've mentioned these kids models a couple times, and used several in the nursing home project, cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/thread/6110/whewI was looking for simple Halloween decorations, when I remembered the Ghost Train and Haunted House from here. I generally try to get most of my projects close to 28mm scale, so I checked the Haunted House in Gimp, and the doors are 1.5 inches tall. Even the pumpkin rider is about right, though the skeleton must be from a giant. I know the trains will need to be enlarged, and I plan to do a backing piece for the Haunted House to make it more solid, and thought I might take the historic passenger car and turn it into a funeral car, similar to Lincoln's.

Okay, I can't find dimensions for the locomotives in real life. Railroad model sites have dimensions for Bachman model railroad engines ... sort of. Baldwin 4-6-0 engine and tender together would be about 18 inches long and 4 inches tall. It seems I have a bit of work to do. Need to be about 15 inches long, and 3.4 inches tall. I'm not real sure how much of a stylized toy can be brought to these specifications, but I'll see

You could also check rail gages. The distance between the rails are standardized (mostly).

Too much effort on something that will still be a toy when done, but I think I want this to be sitting on Great Great Grandma's 1891 organ which is at my folks' house come Halloween. Rescaled the coffin and skeleton and retextured the space they were in. Made the ghoul and Darkus Night two-sided and created a back for the building. I'm also going to enlarge evil cat heads. Yes, we like Halloween
EDIT-- The Engine is 4 inches long and 2.5 inches tall. I'll have to break up the engine into several parts to enlarge things. There just isn't room as it is laid out. The tender is three inches long. Hmmm

Well, I got the new files from lightning today, but I already had the Engine and Tender printed off and clear-coated. Going thru my original 15mm ship files, I think I pretty much can use my original print, so I am adding part numbers to my printed copy, and I'm getting a little loopy. So I think I'm going to build the engine and tender tonight. I broke the engine into two pages, enlarged to 139.45%, enlarged the tender the same. Before I print the Haunted House, I plan on grabbing a few of the characters that are available there, and the ones printed onto the buildings and make figures of them, turning them into zombies and vampires. I really should have pulled the pumpkin rider off and made a figure of him, too. I found some good images of Lincoln's funeral car. Going to darken the historic coach and make it brown, then add the black bunting. When I enlarge it, I'll probably lengthen it, too, if there is room.

One half of the funeral car is done On the Lincoln Funeral Car Replica, they have the inner curtains only on one side. I am guessing it is tied to the position of seats.

Granted that these are 'toys', but the concept of the geometry has promise Here's how the extended funeral car looks with the ghost train and tender I enlarged this the same as the loco and tender before lengthening it and re-texturing, but it seems too tall in comparison, but it makes a good case for doing a series of these down the road. I see the undercarriages as one box, with the car being a box glued on top. The tender and caboose could be done the same way. Locomotives would be more complicated. Undercarriage, frame, boiler and cab. Hopefully, I'll remember to play with the idea again sometime
