OK, this may be a bit convoluted. I use Carrara Pro 8.5 to do my 3D modeling, Ultimate Unwrap Pro for UVs, Ultimate Papercraft 3D for unfolding to make parts sheets, and 3D Photobrowser to produce renders of the finished products. It's a combination I've used for years. Vehicles (ground, air, and space) often have mirrored parts (left vs right wings etc), and Carrara has a simple process to duplicate and flip a part; again, a process I've used for years.
That's the set-up. So, for the soon to be released Mammut IFV (think M-113 in Spaaaaace!), there are several mirrored parts. They show up as mirrored in Carrara, in Unwrap, in 3d Photo browser. So far so good. Then I printed out the final textured version to do PR pix and work out assembly instructions. The parts aren't mirrored. Son of a gun. I know I'm out of practice, but holy frijoles is the fix tedious, especially since there are eight color schemes.
Since my work flow is pretty unique, I don't expect any suggested fixes, just some pity sent my way...and a nice bottle of malbec or bubbly.
So, some wine, some good classical music, and some moments of quiet contemplation. OK, self-pity rant mode off.

While it may not be the perfect solution, it will do:
Untill something better comes along,
Good luck
