Following on from the the thread where I asked for help creating a background tile - which you see in all its glory on the website described here...
A long, long time ago, I used the phrase "Hell's teeth and Satan's kittens!" as a jokey way of swearing without swearing, if you get my meaning. My Mrs then said it in Finnish: "Helvetin hampaat ja Saatanan kissanpennut!". It kept its meaning and still flowed nicely off the tongue.
After that, I had the idea to get the phrase translated into as many different languages as possible. By the time the hosting service I used bombed out on me, I had 29. This was still quite a few years ago.
Last week, while trying to fix another website, I decided to resurrect it.
Here is the link to the website: "Hell's teeth and Satan's kittens!" (It doesn't matter how many visitors I get, or don't, there are no adverts, cookies collection, anything commercial or untoward. The only thing I have is Statcounter which tells me how many visitors the site gets and where they are from - this is pure personal interest.)
Not only would I like many more translations, but I have the idea that maybe I can add an audio file for each, so you can hear them.
I have a few requirements though: 1. The translator must be either a native speaker or at least fluent in the language submitted. So NO Google Translate. 2. The idea of the phrase is more important that a literal translation: That is, we are talking about a set of teeth belonging to the most feared place in a culture/religion and the most supreme evillest being's kittens. For example, some cultures & religions don't have a single concept for Satan, but they do have the thing to be feared most.
In return, I offer absolutely nothing. Sorry, that's it. Well, I do put your name or pseudonym as the contributor and if you have a /personal/ website that would like linked to, I will do that as well - By personal, I mean it has to be done by you or about you, no major corporations or organisations. A small business run by yourself would be OK.
So, if anyone would like to contribute to the website, I would be most grateful.
