Right now I wish I'd done that Kurogane. Did you realize it only had a 74 inch wheelbase? Smaller than a Beetle EDIT-- And here's what I came up with EZ Kurogane Type 95

I would welcome it at any time My friends and I still have one more Bolt Action gane in Manchukuo 1945 that I want to make some scenery for. The Kurogane would look really nice there.

Many years ago, we had a Salesbuilding Workshop with our company, and we had two days of figuring out which of the four types of people we were, and how to use our strengths. I was a Facilitator, which is the only category I remember. Facilitators have the ability to assess the goal and then assess resources to achieve a plan to more easily reach that goal. Which is why I am a great marketer/trainer. It also helps in developing models. In this case I see the Kurogane as the goal. I see what parts I need to generate, and then I look through models that have those features that can help me reach the goal. I think this is do-able, but it may end up like the M-ATV. Only one way to find out BTW, I vaguely remember a clown car I saw once that was similar to this body shape, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. It had fenders like the Dixi, but doing fenders like the Beetle should take care of that issue. If you know of a clown car that looks like this kinda, let me know. I was also looking at Donald Duck's car at Seite 42 BTW, this post at PM.com, www.papermodelers.com/forum/architectural-models/40331-ancient-entrance-somewhere-pacific.html, and yours, also, got me thinking about this again

I went to one of those training things, but ours was only a day. They made a new category for me, apparently my strength is "slacker know-it-all."

Didn't get anything done last night. I'm sore from my nosedive off the porch steps, and my fingers are oozing

I'm making this too hard. Look at the top-down view, then look at the top-down of a beetle. Virtually the same (since you just want something close) Change the roof and the hood and put big honking tires on it, and I think we are there EDIT-- and make it smaller, 74 inch wheelbase instead of 94.5

I'm getting to where I know what I want it to look like Collecting elements and getting things so I know how wide, tall, etc. There will be a fender/undercarriage piece that will glue under the sides. The wheels/sides of the fenders will glue under this. With a top strip that glues to the sides. And a tire that glues onto the back

I think it is not going to be that great, but it is going to be small, which helps hide errors. And like you said about the buses, flames hide a lot

Ready for a test build. Not sure about the fender lengths, but should be close Did you ever build any of the Beetles? Oops, forgot the Imperial Star on the grill. Test build won't have it

Well, I was guessing on how long the fenders needed to be. I thought I had them long enough that I would need to trim them, but they are short. I'll know how much they need adjusting when I finish building it I did fix the star earlier, though

You, sir, are amazing.
I haven't been to the print shop in over a week, so I haven't built anything paper lately.

Here's the final model By doing the test build, I was able to see which things were one tab or two tabs short, so I am very confident in this. And Kansas City is probably a bit too far for you to drive to do me a favor... EDIT-- Let me know if you have any questions in the build. Build the top and sides, then build the wheel/fenders, attach the bottom after trying to get some curve in the fenders at the middle, insert the wheels, then attach details EDIT # 2-- It is a cute little bugger, isn't it?

Only 11 parts (13 with the spare wheel) for a model this good?
Sir, those eldritch models disappearing around your house are starting to worry me!

There were so many different ways to approach this, but doing it similarly to the VW Beetle Easy-Build seemed to be the best option. I made it slightly larger than scale. You can reduce it, but I wouldn't recommend it. It is quite small.
I was lucky to find a good side view that didn't take a lot of perspective work, and a couple top-downs that gave me the hood shape. The back of the convertible top should be rounder. Oh, well. There was a great restoration site that had detail images, where I got the grill, etc. I had a little trouble changing the hue to the tan/brown. I wish I would have changed the color after working out the elements. I don't know if I can get this back to the blue-grey very easily. It would have been nice to have both colors.
When I started this, I thought about doing the tub version as a second option and the pickup, but I think I am tired of messing with this. If someone wants to give those a shot, I can supply some photos

I am going to try to adjust this to the olive-ish color I would buy the tub version as a plastic kit, as that is tge one I want for my Japanese platoon and it woukd help diffrentiate it from the scenic items Thank you again

... I made it slightly larger than scale. You can reduce it, but I wouldn't recommend it. It is quite small. ... Could you give a 1:X estimate of scale? Like 1:48 I am tempted to include it in my printshop run, but I would rescale it to fit in with genet models scalevise.

I went ahead and built the little brown beetle, too. Did this for a size comparison of the Kurogane, the Beetle and the Zis-5
