So, it was actually 2.5D that got me into paper modeling for gaming. Ever since I started playing around with that I wished I could do pop ups. Ten years ago there was no info on the internet and I never seriously checked the library. A little while ago I checked youtube again and there was an excellent set of tutorials on what is called "The Pop Up Channel" (go figure) www.youtube.com/channel/UCx2M2bGHtXBszG6tuR_NIbQ/videos) So today, while it was cold when it wasn't raining, I came up with this: As you can see: a 3" base, just under 6" tall, folds flat to fit in a business envelope. You could definitely get two into an envelope, maybe three or four. I don't think it is/will be too fiddly to assemble. Do you guys think I should pursue this?

Looks like it is worth extra time. It would be more impressive with textures, and I would like to see it folded up, too

I like it, and would like to see it with textures as well.

I am working on this. I will share what I come up with. We all know that fold-flat is convenient for storage. Pop-up makes it convenient to set up. It does not have the magic of a pop-up book because the base doesn't hide much of the figure so there isn't as big a reveal.

I got sidetracked tonight on an old Allers Familie Journal piece. A pop-up doll house. Basically four rooms with doors in between the rooms. Sounds like the perfect solution to supply a floorplan to fit into an exterior wall sleeve.
A pop-up figure is totally different. Best to think of it as a fold-flat figure. I think you are on the right track

I took my car in to the dealer for its annual and had to wait for a few hours so I managed to do some tracing of a scan as well as starting something for the May Hoard. It might be the weekend before I get back to it. Is this weekend Mother's Day?

Yes, Mothers Day and the Dayton, Ohio Paper Modelers Convention What kind of HORRIBLE people would schedule a CONVENTION on MOTHER'S DAY? EDIT: I figured it out. Clones. Never mind.

I thought the same thing. When it was preliminarily scheduled for the following weekend, I thought I'd try to go, but then they moved it to an impossible weekend...
