I have started working on tied up sails but not sure when I will finish them. Want to finish my Tropical Village Builder set first. I have made some rough prototypes of an optional raised bow deck for the (medium size) brig AND I have the geometry finished for a (large size) galleon. I also am working on the geometry for Corsair ships with the latin sail type like on the first mast in your pic. So basically I am on it, it will just take a while. I'd say end of the year or beginning of next. That sounds great, since the end of the year is not that far away. Perhaps a medium sized (ca. 25 cm length) Polacca will find its way among your corsair ships. I can imagine that commandeered Venetian trade ships were a thing along the Barbary Coast...

I'll put it on the list!
Did a quick research and they look quite similar to the Xebec. Maybe I can make a design where one can choose the rig setup and add or skip other elements to make the builds different.

Perhaps it's basically more or less the same ship under different names and flags??!? Just like one man's sloop is another man's brigantine…

There are a few distinctions. The rig is a little different and also some details on the hull. But very similar. Surely from the same roots!

Since I guess, that you will have to ever so subtle simplify the ships anyway, why not make it the same ship under different flag and name options? I don't think anyone would mind or argue, especially regarding your quality level of the models...

Yes, I think it will be the same base geometry with some options to make a difference.

Since I can ask you right here... What would you say how easy it would be to mod one of your "larger" ships into a Venetian Polacca? The main goal would be a trade ship tied to the docks as terrain for skirmish. So, the sails should be up, and there should plenty of space (perhaps on more than one level) to place minis... Along the Venetian theme, I saw a paper toy 'Felucca', the Egyptian version of the Polacca. Some day I will have to build another of your ships, lightning. They are so beautiful

I will continue the ships next year. Have to finish some other models this year. So many things to do and so little time :-)
