Hello. I'm new to posting on this board. Been trolling it for years. Could anyone tell me where I can find out how to jump in and start creating. What programs, is there a guide? I am formally a member of Junior Generals and now on Pixel Marshals. Creating minis using simple Paint. Any advise? Thanks, Kisshead

Howdy Kisshead! I use Photoshop and InDesign for my mini sets.

Up until recently, I would have recommended Gimp, but the last few updates have issues.
I am about to uninstall completely and install one of the old versions. Gimp 2.8.?? was sweet, before I broke it. I botched up the docked dialogs, so figured that would be a good time to update. I haven't quite decided to give up on the new version yet, but it is getting close.
What are you wanting to create?

I would like to amend my earlier post. I think I will be sticking with the current version, now that I have tweaked things that were never needing tweaked in previous versions. Saying that, 'straight-from-download' Gimp 2.10.4 would not be very satisfying, creating artifacts, and messing with colors and crispness. I would go with an older 2.8 version, download.gimp.org/mirror/pub/gimp/v2.8/windows/The learning curve between Paint and Gimp 2.8 would be considerably shorter

Like Okumarts I use Photoshop and InDesign and have for years. One thing to remember is that you don't need the newest software with all the newest bells and whistles. David Wears of Grey Matter Games hand sketches, scans, then uses...wait for it...Excel.
