Today, Sep 15, 2018, one of the more prolific OneBookShelf (RPGNow, etc.) publishers, Avalon Games, has launched their first KickStarter project, to produce a host of materials through the new "Avalon's Solo Adventure system", allowing anyone to run detailed solo 5e D&D adventures (for parties, not merely single adventurers), as long as they have access to the 5e rules (the basic rules are freely available from the Wizards of the Coast website still, as we've noted on the CWF before; go here if you haven't come across these freebies before). I'm sure some of you will know Avalon Games already, from their many Print 'n' Play mini-games, and their numerous RPG materials, including artwork and a variety of paper minis in several different formats.
Personally, I've been running solo D&D games since I got my first set, more than 40 years ago (mostly because I knew nobody else back then who wanted to try playing it...). However, I'm always fascinated to see how others approach the subject, and I've been repeatedly impressed over time by the creativity shown in others of Avalon's RPG publications and mini-games (if maybe a little less so by their sometimes slack approach to proof-checking!). So, given this KS is offering a lot of bang for not that much buck ($15 to get the whole PDF package), if this sounds interesting to you too, I'd recommend at least taking a look, especially as it's already less than $250 from funding ($1,000) on day one as I type this.
What caught my eye to mention this here though was the fact there are a couple of sets of paper minis to be available purely to KS backers once the campaign breaches the $1,100 and $1,300 funding levels. There's nothing to say what format these may be in as yet, and given the format and style of their other paper minis has been very variable over time, it's hard to say whether this would tempt anyone here, but thought you'd at least like to know about the possibility.
The main KS page for this project is here, while you can download a free PDF Preview of the main rulebook via this RPGNow link (assuming you have a free OBS account, at least).
