OK, so this started out as a sick joke. I decided to name the leader for my Field Force in our "The Men Who Would Be Kings" campaign as Lieutenant Daniel Wellborne: Lt. Dan from Forrest Gump, thrown back to the British Sudan. I said if he ever got knocked out of action in a game, I would bring him back in a wheelchair. And so the research into Victorian-era wheelchairs started. And papercraft files were perused. And now I have the following as a work in progress, there are still a few additions that need to be made but i think the overall concept is workable. The base chair is from WWG's Shellendrak Manor. The side wheels are from lightning's free Rickshaw. The little rear wheel is from grendelsmother64's early Coupe. And the little curved doohickey holding that rear wheel I made myself. As this contains an element from a paid set (the main chair) I am not posting this to the forum at large. I'll just have a record of the progress on it here.

Lt. Dan's unit was quite aggressive during our game, destroying the better part of three enemy units before finally being pinned by incoming fire (or, as I like to tell it, the good Lt.'s legs got shot out from under him and the remains of his section were trying to help him while he was still trying to shoot the enemy) and then routing the following turn (or, as I like to tell it, Pvt. Gump picked him up and ran off with him, so the other guys followed.)
I lost the game, but still have more troops at my disposal than my opponent in the campaign.
Lt. Dan will be back. In the wheelchair.

OK, so this is as done as it's going to get until I have a chance to test-build it. I am also working on a plastic-and-metal Lt. Dan miniature to sit in it, but I can't finish him until this is done, so it is a bit of a balancing act. Anyways, here it is: And remember, before y'all go grabbing this and printing out a half dozen to sell at your next steampunk game, this uses some copyrighted textures from Worldworks Games, Papierschitzel, and Grendelsmother64.

So, I finished Lt. Dan's wheelchair. I printed it out, built it, and showed it to my wife. When I explained the backstory, she just looked at me.
"You're an a--hole," she stated after some thought.
My phone died as I tried to take a picture, so I will post that later. It's a little taller than I would have liked, but it still fits on a penny and making it shorter would have required a LOT more work. There are a few issues with tabs being too big, and the little tabs for the rear wheel are FAR too small.
