Now please note that I did NOT say he was going soft! Just hope that there is some easy way to make the rather harsh pixelation on the outline go away. This is one of Autohammer's pieces (sorry, I don't know how to link to his name). I really love gnolls, and this is a very nice one. I have done nothing other than to move the base a bit and add in a blue sky backdrop in the empty spaces. Any help greatly appreciated.

Huh. I wanted to add in "BY ALL MEANS! I LOVE THIS PIECE!" as my posting, of course. Instead, the site seems to have let me modify your post. Again: weird.

If I might make a suggestion. As a test. Can you paste the new one over the old one and adjust the opacity of the pasted layer? The new one loses some of the fur's clumpiness that I liked in the original. If you could paste the old one over the new and find a happy medium where you capture the painterly new style with the feel of the old style, this could be a tremendous piece. Would you give me permission to play with it tonight after work? EDIT -- Well, the figure was also tweaked a little between the original and softer versions, but to show what a 50% opacity overlay would result in, I took a quick glimpse. Keep in mind, the axe, arm and feet are different between the two images, but the overlay is more of a concept deal, and I think it has some merit. It was just an idea. Maybe you like it, maybe not. But I thought I would suggest it anyway. I deal with a lot of photos, yet 'photorealistic' doesn't usually work well for models. Cartoonize gets carried away, so I will overlay the Cartoonized image over the photo and adjust opacity until it looks good. Thought that type of thing might help

Out of the hospital? Hope you are all right
I just did this to test the idea. I didn't do a 'final version', just a test. He looks more shaggy with that but would need cleaned up, and I'm not sure the subtle tufts of fur would show well on a figure an arm's length away
