I like the versatility (and cheapness) of paper minis but one problem (to no one's surprise) is that that they are flat which means that if not viewed at the right angle, they can be difficult to identify on large and complex displays. I've been trying to think of ways to keep the minis quick to assemble (something important in my mind for trying new games that use minis) while at the same time having some 3 dimensionality. Eventual goal are minis that would be in scale with 28mm so this is very much a work in progress but here are 3 so far. 1- Baron Ironblood (from the 80s british toyline Action Force). If you take away the base , the Baron is about right for the 40mm scale 2- From Fallout, a vault dweller looking at his pip boy. I tried to go for 1990s 3D look. about 30mm high. will probably try something a bit more realistic. 3- Grendel, Hunter Rose version from the comics. About right for the 40mm scale Anyone else tried scratch built minis of some sort ?

I'll try to make a new one. a deadline is always a good motivation to do stuff.

For some reason, I can't seem to open the images. Should be fixed now, there was an image bug in the forum back in 2017 and part of 2018.

I don't have another thread. I put a 2.5D Chimera in one of the hoards (I think). There might be other 2.5D projects in the hoards, but I don't remember.

There are others, too. Like the ratmen, and some animals.
I was trying to rebuild my library, and since I'm working on the Wasteland Motors project, I've been trying to concentrate on autos. I also was working on Oriental models and figures (due to your interest in them). It's unbelievable how many of my favorites are no longer available through Wayback Machine. But I was able to get the very old Canon Costume series and most of the Epson HK Olympics models. I'm hoping to spark some ideas of my own along those lines
