The theme for this month's HOARD is Early Retro Future Space This can be any sort of miniature figure or model on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your entries, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category. Entries for the Hoard will be accepted until the last day of September, 2019. Hmmm, not sure how I had two Space things so close together, but this is a great chance to finish up those projects from One Small Step and To the Moon. Get your Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers quotes ready and have fun Blasting off!

Isn't September usually Halloween-themed?

What a great idea! I can finish my lunar truck and put a Flash Gordon color scheme on it.

"Early Retro Future Space" for the context of creations covers what sort of era / genre ? you mention buck rogers and flash gordon so is it movie serial type space exploration or what some people call dieselpunk in general ?

It is a very broad category. Space-related early Sci Fi novels, movies, serials, tv, etc.
In my thought process, I think of Space Sci Fi before man made it into space, but I am probably more restricted than others

(this story was first published in 1952)

Yes, indeed. Even newer things that try to evoke that feel would work

I just wish my work on a Cavorite Sphere wasn't wiped out when my computer died no chance of hard disk recovery ? My wife, who tends to think and plan about these things better than me, asked that in addition to things being on my computer, we have a desktop external hardrive as well as a second backup we keep in our bug-out bag (in case of fire, not in case our cover is blown and we need to go on the lam).

I haven't determined which company I want to entrust to doing the work, yet. They charge as much as a new cheap computer, so I only want to do it once.

When my old machine melted down (literally) I was able to mount the old-hard drive and purchased a disk doctor program for $60. It went through the hard-drive and dumped everything to an external drive, without any names on the files though. Then I sorted by kind and looked at previews of the files to figure out what they were and re-name them. I looked at professional recovery first and it struck me as extremely expensive, what I did mainly just took time.

Well now that I have this other computer functioning, I have time to make a good decision. I'll ask my IT guy about it, but he's swamped through next week

I have an idea for what should be an easy rocket ship. However, time might be short... as always. Also, my head is full of Venetian Palazzi ideas for the tabletop game Carnevale ( www.carnevalegame.com/)...

I managed to recover about 95% of the data, but the last 5% was damaged, and incidently, my texture archive was particularly affected.

Ouch! Other than a bunch of my favorite models not able to be pulled up on Wayback Machine, I can say that I am back in operation. I really am having a hard time getting my textures regenerated.

Precursor warriors working as gladiators in the stellar arenas have proven to be more accepted in Terran galactic society. Spending all of their time hacking each others limbs off, and subsequently regrowing them, focuses their frequent berserker rages.
