Great stuff! Reminds me of my attempt at "The Pit" board for a 3D version of Roborally

You could just hinge the oddly shaped interior cavern wall and not have ends (or have the ends of the section with tabs and slots).

Hmm, thought I'd put a reply in this thread already. Oh well. I'm interested in- Victorian Steampunk And - Faction Paradox. That is folk in any kind of historical (or non) clothing wearing skull masks (preferably vampire bat). Or the military wing of Faction Paradox - full armour made of high tech components, a vampire skeleton, and ritualistic acoutrements, much like this- What makes the Faction so unique? The rarely if ever carry weapons - but their shadows do! Usually one melee weapon, but occasionally a member of the faction will opt for a non-combat item for their shadow. I suggest it because it's a challenge. I've no idea how you can do shadows easily with paper miniatures.

Mostly covered in birth/death certificates from the NSW registry office that my wife's been ordering willy-nilly for her ongoing Geni project

I'm thinking at that scale - possibly gluing in some string as a hinge may be the way to go. It's less likely to turn into mulch when used.

At that scale if you attempted articulation you'd be dealing with sawdust.

Very good news! I've a friend into Malifaux who is a keen miniature buyer as well (also a keen avoider of painting his miniatures). Pre-made would be a godsend to him!

Hmm, back in the day when I had a Dark Elf army primarily made of the plastics from the GW army box, which then expanded out into lead, I used 20mm square exclusively. When I started including Chaos (Slaneesh specifically) that upped to 25mm When I started doing Genestealers (and then Tyranids and Chaos Marines) I started using 25mm round bases.
When GW began using unethical marketting practices and increased the prices of all minatures by 50% I stopped wargamming.
Now, I tend to use 25mm round bases and only buy miniatures for roleplaying purposes. Most recently all 12 Doctors (11 TV + Movie)

If you are photographing miniatures that you have painted, copyright is in your favour. The miniature company has rights to the original model - not to any painting you have done to it.
There may be something about a derivative work or new manifestation of a work - but I seriously doubt any miniature company would make a fuss about it, they'd have the entire painting hobby up in arms if a painter didn't have rights to their own works.

Ps. I can see how these could be simplified even more without loosing detail. Some of the shapes are enclosed volumes, where they don't necessarily need to be. The Helmet for example could be more of a hollowed shell. The arms could be made flat shapes without taking away from the overall depiction. <- sort of how Mel did some of his small armoured Marines. I can see a use for the enclosed volumes however- you could create different parts and customise the figures. Swap helmets around and so on.

Nice - I like the clean style there. Are you planning on slotting them into a base?

Hmm, yeah - sadly this forum doesn't appear to have any RSS feeds which would fix that kind of notification of new content problem.

You'd only get the same effect if suspended about thirty feet above the gaming table I think.... even the slightest pattern will emerge at that print scale. Yeah - it's just an artifact noticable when you do low res images for the preview on the internet, really. Not worth worrying about as it won't occur at other times.

Maybe it's just that there's some space or something in the flagstone texture? Looks a bit gridlike.

I was just going to ask if you were going to give the tiles a border, or whether you were going to the trouble of making the textures tile-able, so they always match edges (which takes longer, is trickier, but looks nicer).
I can't really tell from that small image, but it does look like you've got repetitive lines occurring where tiles are joining - and the textures aren't matching.

I just hope he doesn't have to paint them like that, but can do some disassembling first, or it could be quite difficult and tedious...

I'm not sure you could for Formula De - the pieces and the squares on the board are so small, that the thickness of the glass may stop you from accurately being able to tell where anyone's car is.

I like the idea, I'll have to see what the cost of large panes of glass is (I've not broken a window yet, so have no idea).
