Since Verne's Albatross kicked my butt I decided I needed a win so I went back to the horse idea. Turns out you can fit a team of four on one page, so here it is. As for instructions. 1. Print out the page on normal printer paper. 2. Cut along the dotted black lines to separate the headless horse sides and the legless body and head from the rest of the page. 3. Glue this to a piece of corrugated cardboard (approx. 3mm thick) so that the legs of the horse are parallel to the corrugations. You can press this under some books while you cut out some of the other pieces. 4. Cut out the tail and back and glue the tab of the tail to the underside of the back so that the tail overlaps the extensions that will run down the flanks. 5. Cut the parts from the corrugated cardboard. You may need to add a paper shim to some legs if the corrigation has too big a void. 6. Glue the inside of the legs in place before attaching each side to the middle of the horse. 7. Glue the neck texture in place. The small rectangle beside the neck texture is for the front edge of the neck. 8. Cover the edges of the legs by starting at the hooves and smoothing the glued strip upwards towards the underside of the body. The "U" shaped piece goes on the back end. The "H" shaped piece goes on the front. 9. Fold the ears along the dotted lines and glue the two halves together before gluing them to the head just forward of the texture on the neck. 10. Last of all, glue the head and mane in place.

Thanks. Here is a build pic. I forgot the ears! I suppose I should edge, but without the flash it is really not so bad.

Thanks squirmydad! Now I wish I had trimmed the head a little better. And remembered the ears.

Thanks. Here is a build pic. I forgot the ears! I suppose I should edge, but without the flash it is really not so bad. They look really good. Maybe I'll steal the technique I've been mulling an idea in my head for 3D cows, for quite some time now ( years, seriously!), but was thinking about having one piece which is curved over, so you get the sides and top in one piece, so you can hang weapons and stuff on. Quick and dirty concept sketch: They would be for Battle Cattle.

That style was used in the old Canon Kids section a lot, and in a lot of the vintage animals. I haven't had time to play with it yet, but I found this cow that I think could be a great starting point for a cow. I want to change the flank dimensions. From the base of the rib cage, the back should either remain flat or go slightly down, and the sides below the rib cage should taper in. Adjusting those elements and removing the udders, this could be the start of a great ox. I mentioned the Canon animals, so I should probably give an example.

Thanks, they're great. Cows are good, the Battle Cattle makes plenty of udder jokes.

When I saw that vintage cow, it really got me thinking about how I need to get my ox team done that has been a lingering project for far too long At one time I was trying to fix the ox from the moo moo buggy, but never came up with anything satisfactory

Here is the one ox I did years ago. My son used him to pull a cart in his game. postimg.cc/PNPwCn06

After "dismembering" the motorcyclist yesterday, very nearly my first thought this morning was that doing something like this would give you a poseable horse to create some variety in a pair or team. You might do the same with the legs, but that could get fiddly.
