I have a set of about four or five wizards of different sorts designed from HeroQuest minis. As I finish coloring them, I will post them to this thread. The first is a standard Sorcerer.

Oh excellent and full of character man!
My favorite among the character models you've made for sure.
This really has me wanting to do a new set of HQ tiles/board and props with a slightly more fantastical theme and feel to it. Sort of like how World of Warcraft has that slightly cartoonish vibe to it. And bright bold shapes and colors.
good stuff.

Any chance one of them is based off of HQ's chaos sorceror? I remember which one you are looking for. He came with the base set. had a skull face and a helmet like the Chaos Warriors. No, I do not have him in this set. Sorry.

Nope, I did not ink him. I had a paper substitution for him. I second the idea about the tiles, but I am not sure how much more fantastical you could make the theme. Most of them were pretty standard rooms. There were a few cool ones in the expansions. The rotating room is one of my favorites. ;D

Cool link and great color scheme. I will have to replicate it with a figure, at some point.... jabbro, the wizard looks like one from the Warhammer Quest set. JIM

jabbro, the wizard looks like one from the Warhammer Quest set. JIM Actually he is from an Expansion pack called Wizards of Morcar. It was only released in the UK. Morcar was the UK equivalent of Zargon. It never made it here, so GW might have reused the figure for Warhammer Quest. Here is the second in the series. He's an Orc Shaman.

Both excellent! I'm rather partial to Orcs, though and that one is GREAT!

the original figure had the hat I believe, or at least the art for it did.

I really do not want to mod this one as it would take a good chunk of time out of the rest of the set. I am trying to get through these fairly quickly without suffering on quality so I can begin new stuff and help fill out some of the requests on the forum. If I have time after I get that far, I'll consider revising a copy.

I haven't commented on any of your stuff, jabbro, but I'm loving it all! I especially like the orc shaman because I need one for my goblinoid warband. Nicely done.

If your working on EVERYTHING from HQ, when are we gonna see a Fimir? PLEASE? I loved those guys. Goofy, but cool. I so second that! If I remember right, HQ was just about the only way to have a mini for them despite them existing in warhammer fantasy roleplay (I am not sure on current editions but I do know they did in previous versions at least)

If your working on EVERYTHING from HQ, when are we gonna see a Fimir? PLEASE? I loved those guys. Goofy, but cool. I am not doing everything. Just the ones I have previously inked. I've already got those on a list for when I do start redesigning new stuff. I agree. GW dropped them pretty quickly. They were looking for something unique, and those were only a stepping stone. Shame, they had character.

Sometimes the simplest of designs come out the best. This was a no frills character, but I had so much fun creating the special effects. I think I like him the best of the four. ;D

Thanks, guys. I was finishing this one late last night while my wife was scoping out SIMS 3. (It arrived yesterday and she stayed up until 3AM, just playing around with it. It looks very cool, if you like the series). It was her idea to have him hold the lightning, and after that it just fit together so nicely, I had to keep it. Thanks Kalashnikov. It does not quite match the original design, but I think somewhere in the back of by head as I was drawing him I was thinking Jewish.

And this is the last in the series. Originally it was the Arch-Mage for the HQ Elf Quest expansion. I did not have good art for the figure and ended up improvising a lot. What was a slightly effeminate, but eclectic old mage has become a sorceress fused with the bride of Frankenstein. Don't ask how it happened.
