One of my early test builds made in 54mm scale. I realized that adjustments needed to be made in positioning stuff, especially since the medium of cut paper won't allow sturdy details or long objects protruding from the larger mass.

Subsequently, I revised the lance position, resized the pennon and closed up some of the areas near the horse's hooves.

The current models printed as 28mm figures. I plan on refining them some more.

These look great so far. I'd suggest adding a black border around the figures, about 2mm wide, so you don't have to trim right on the outline. This will also need up the pennant staff considerably. You'd need to shift the reins from black to brown or white, so they would show against the black, but I think you'll find it worth the effort.
Most of the artists in this community use a black border on their figures, or at least offer it as an option on a layered PDF. Check out some of the free minis in the Downloads section at OneMonk.com for examples.
You're off to a great start. I look forward to further developments!
