Shep was such a wonderful member of this forum. Supportive, up-beat, constructive, and the rest of the categoric list. Since his passing, we have dealt with it in so many ways, but most of those ways are not moving us through our grief as much as keeping us mired in our grief. I'm struggling with this, too. Everyone deals with grief in slightly different ways, but generally speaking, most of the 'authorities' have one thing they agree on. You are over the hump when you start to Treasure the Memories. That doesn't mean your grief is gone. I am not sure I will ever completely get over this one. So, we have had a number of discussions with folks and one of the main topics has been moving forward. And doing so in a way to honor Shep's memory. People have talked about projects that Shep has encouraged them on, or even was working with them to accomplish. I'm looking at myself as much as anyone. I have a list of things I am sure Shep would like me to see through. To honor Shep and to help us move forward, we have made a decision. Among the choices, time to heal was among the deciding factors. Rushing in before folks have had time could be a mistake. Enough explanation without saying what this is about. Shep's birthday is December 29, 1974. To honor him and his legacy. We are bumping the Procrastinators Hoard. December's Hoard is now dedicated to Walter Milani-Mueller, our dear friend Shep. If you have a project that Shep affected. If you just want to build something he designed. Even if you just do something that you think he might have liked to see you do. Everything is on the table. If you feel like it honors Shep, do it. I am not sure what to call it yet. But I am not sure it matters that much. I am leaning towards 'For Shep', but I don't know. I hope that this will not only honor the one and only Shep, but will also help us move through the grieving process and heal. If you are worried about the Procrastinators Hoard, won't it be appropriate to put it off until January?

I debated on this long and hard last night and did the same again today, but if you didn't know Shep well, you can learn so much about his interests and character by going through his posts -- cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/user/1695/recentNews flash! I am a bit different. My mom says I 'twist the knife', but when someone I know passes away, I dig into all I can learn about them. Especially the things that I should have found out before it was too late. So, I've been going through his old posts, reminding myself of who he is. Sometimes I go to the thread his response is in to get context. And there are times I just have to stop and remember. Sometimes I just have to stop. I imagine this isn't a very good strategy for some folks. We are all different and process grief differently. But for those who want to know him better than they did in life, this is a good way to see who he was and why we think he needs to be remembered. Have a box of tissue handy

I'm going to devote next month's Patreon sets to a genre and setting Shep loved. He always wanted more of the Starship Adventures "not Trek" stuff. So I have made a Shep paper mini in his honour. Capt. Milani-Muëller on the bridge. www.patreon.com/posts/41001196

I have made a few references to my Shep List. As I have gone through many of Shep's posts and threads, I have made a list of projects he has inspired and are incomplete and incomplete projects he was hoping to do himself. If it helps anyone to come up with ideas, I will post it here and update occasionally as I revisit his posts and find other suggestions. I honestly was thinking more about things I could do myself rather than a list of possibilities for anyone, so there are several things along the lines of figures that are not included.

I had actually started work on a Romulan Shuttle; finding reference pics, scaling them and using them to start doing some 3d work. I'll pick that one up again.

My mistake, I wanted to work on a Romulan shuttle, couldn't find very good pics of the mythical version from the TOS era, but did find very nice pics of the 1981 ver. Vulcan shuttle and had started work on that. Then I realized that it would be almost 40 inches long on the tabletop in 28mm scale...hmm, I might need to rethink that one.

When I was looking at the Romulan Shuttle way back when, I was trying to look at it as two hulls meeting at a common base that extends out as the wings. One of the reasons I got interested in paddlewheelers. On waterline models the deck and base are parallel and have roughly the correct point at the bow. I think it is a matter of getting the right components

I was thinking about it last night and the Romulan Heavy shuttle would still be 18" long so I'm going to opt for a lighter version closer to the previous Federation shuttles I've built. Romulan shuttles from the TOS era aren't particularly canon anyway so I've a bit of latitude in their design.

I still may do the one based off his interior maps. Maybe.
I think I am going to go with 'Shep - Boldly Gone Before' as the Hoard title.
