OK, so this really isn't a papercraft at all. But a while back, I bought a Matchbox car of a 1974 Volkswagen Thing for a dollar, just to see if it was the right size to be a Kubelwagen for background scenery in 28mm WWII gaming. I measured it, and it is 1:58 scale while 28mm is normally considered 1:56 scale (thank you, Warlord Games for standardizing this!) So, close enough for a scenic item, am I right? I know the front end is all wrong, but it should be fine for a bit of background color. I have more pictures and commentary on my blog at coyotepuncscreativity.blogspot.com/2020/09/matchbox-car-scenery.html

Very nicely done. If you hadn't told the source, I am sure there would be folks wondering where you got that great kubelwagen

It's a VW 181 post-war Kübelwagen as used by the German Bundeswehr.

The front end is noticeably different o.0 Honestly, if you put a spare tire on the hood and removed the front bumper, the only remaining difference would be the angle of the hood. I doubt very much that at that point, anyone would notice the minor inaccuracy, let alone recognize it as a "modern" Thing.
