The hat shop interior, so far. For this to work, I would need bar type cabinet large enough to cover the printed stairs but low enough to fit under the window. On the finished model, I will kit-bash open shutters on the window and add one of the canopies Chris Nahler made for me.

Modified interior in place. I will be putting together some furniture although this is only visible through the window with the roof off.

The completed shop front. The sign is from Glenn's Palmenthal Saloon. Dario told me the correct wording, Which I think looks great in gold Vivaldi font

I really like how you have different areas with different character, yet it all screams Venice

This was my login image this morning when I logged in. Man I really want to visit sometime! My little slice of Venice has not been abandoned. I have more to add and am considering expanding the table to 6x3. This will be achieved by continuing back from the watchtower. I may even work out a diagonal canal running off the central one.

The first of the refinements. A simple jetty for the ramo at Ca Dario. Adapted from Ravenfell Docks by Fat Dragon Games. I simply glued the sides underneath and cut to fit the space between the buildings. A 3D printed gondola mooring pole will be attached at the front corner

I decided to make another one for the Pallazo with the waterline porch. This will push under the front of the building until the cut out stops against the front of the porch. I will be fitting a mooring pole at each front corner

The second jetty in position. For the remaining mooring poles, I have photocopied the water texture and will use it to make laminated bases which can be positioned where needed.

Looks really good, sir. Does it need to be a tad bigger for Carnevale figures?

Looks really good, sir. Does it need to be a tad bigger for Carnevale figures? The resin one supplied in the starter set is smaller and lacks enough space for the gondolier. Your model is perfect for the figures but overwhelms the buildings a little.

This is a tad wider than a real gondola, but that is so that a figure can actually stand in the 'cabin' of the boat. Gondolas aren't very short, but with this, the width really adds a lot of bulk to it. I don't remember who said it (it may have been Tommygun), but someone stated a long time ago that for game play, the figures should be at a slightly larger scale than the items they interact with, which should be a little larger than background pieces, except when the game takes place indoors. I know that on my buildings, I scale them small enough that they don't look out of place. The gondola is probably too large compared to buildings, but it is something figures interact with. I don't think in a game you would want the gondola any smaller.
I hope the build went together fairly easily. I imagine the sandolo will go together even easier

The build went very well. The only issue I had was cutting out the passenger area. I like the fact the gondola is a bit big, it looks more majestic. Currently painting gondola poles, apparently they are called Paline. I decided to use a standard scheme for the tops and have different colour combinations for the stripes. Taking my inspiration from the Venetian noble families.

The Merchant Princes. The stripes on the palines were originally based on the coat of arms of the house owner. Blue and yellow were the most popular colours in Venetian heraldry
