Next step, the high bridge over the central canal. One side will be attached to a 4 x 4 square tower with the roof sloping away from the canal. Using a shallow roof side from Glenn's Venice Churches as a guide, I created these sides for the bridge tower

The bridge tower and guard house completed. The sloping roof on the tower proved a little tricky. The guard house was intended to have a chimney but I had nothing basic enough

The most basic chimney I have is the one on the wonky building in the White Hart Coaching Inn. The ones on the Garrick Inn and Harvard House are a step up from that. onemonk.com/verminkinglabs.htmlDoesn't glennwilliams have any from his western buildings that could be modded?

There are a couple of possibilities but I would have to compare roof pitch.

The problem with chimneys on a sloped roof is they have to be purpose designed due to the varying slopes. Drives me a bit crazy, but only a bit. The way I do it is with a boolean operation in my 3D modeller. The side chimneys are much easier, and probably the best way to go to accommodate multiple roof slopes. I have to say, I really love this thread.

You have the slope for the chimney bases right there in this case. The slope of the roof is the slope of the top of the wall. It isn't that easy on most buildings

I will be using this nifty little roof conversion from Vermin King, if I decide to include TT Combat buildings on the table.

I still find it amazing that they did such a great job on the walls and did such a horrible job on the roof.

Carnevale is an oddly mixed bag. They do lovely figures but don't bother removing the excess sprue.

My second Merchant Palace alongside my original Merchant Prince build. The reasoning behind the fancy window on the business floor is that this house belongs to the owner of a merchant fleet. He wanted a good view of the Grand Canal and harbour from his desk.

Speaking of Ca Dario, my dad was impressed that something that was a bunch of floppy paper, in less than a minute and a half became a solid building. Mom just thought it was pretty
