Just got back into paper minis. Hopefully someone can help me deal with an old but time consuming problem in a less time consuming manner.
Back in the day when I was churning out armies of paper flats, I settled on a style that seemed to work for me, less the aforementioned annoying problem.
I started my collection with the old Crusiau/Gwindel flats. I liked them, but did not care for his suggestion that a thin white strip should be left surrounding the figure. I preferred a thin black strip, which I thought looked more realistic.
Trouble was that I couldn't get any drawing program (from Windows paintbrush all the way to photoshop) to fill in the space outside the figure with solid black. Even the more sophisticated masque tools would still leave a thin white strip at the edge that could only be got rid of by painstakingly going around the edge of the figure by 'hand' with a paintbrush tool.
Any simple cures for this?
Thanks

I select the background of the page. Then I reverse selection. Then, depending on the image you maybe you then want to shrink the selection by one or two pixels. Then stroke the selection with a 2 or 3 pixel thick line.
I think that is the best advice I have.

Say I was trying to do this in Paint. Shrink the image by 1% maybe? Also not sure what it means to stroke the selection. Any help for the mentally and artistically challenged is greatly appreciated.

Actually, 'stroke' was something I had no clue about until a couple months ago (the Halloween Hoard). And as with most things one doesn't do for a few months, I totally forget how it is done. It was this post from cowboyleland that introduced the concept to me, cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/post/104075/threadThere was a little more direction elsewhere in that thread
