The theme for this month's HOARD is Battle Field Props - Any Era or Genre This can be any sort of miniature figure or model on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your entries, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category. Entries for the Hoard will be accepted until the last day of June, 2021. The 200th Forum Hoard!!!Yes, I hate Facebook, but I have been following conversations there, trying to see what folks are looking for and need. Carnevale isn't really a Battle Field exactly, but in a way it is. It needs ground clutter. Folks are looking for Weird War stuff Folks are looking for material for Viking Wars Fear of the Dark is gearing up for a World War II scenario, though I actually picture the game being Depression Era or earlier. Like the title says 'Any Era or Genre', so let's flood this one with an amazing mish-mash of props Let's do this! Have fun

Just giving this bad boy a bump
EDIT --
Trying to come up with a quick project, I think I have an idea. The Fear of the Dark folks were talking about needing trenches. Nothing big and elaborate. The roofs from the Spezieria came to mind. Instead of sloped on both sides from the peak, have a slope on one side and then a vertical wall. I'm going to play with the idea tonight. We'll see

I watch too many movies and documentaries. Actual battlefield photos of trenches show how rare it was to have the posts and boards holding back the dirt, or the sand bags, corrugated metal or even stone. It seems that late in WWI, they started making trenches 'semi-permanent', but early in the war, they built trenches to be a foot hold to advance the forces, so they didn't reinforce them too much. They learned that you could end up in the same trench for months, so they started building them better later on

I watched this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDO3McR_fBI a little while ago and thought a paper versions of the stuff he starts building at 1:20, would be good and easy in 2d or 3d in paper. I don't think I will have time this month so I am sharing for others to use as inspiration.

OK, here's my small contribution to this hoard. Thought that some fast and easy to cut and glue, yet universal field fortifications and terrain obstacles can be useful. You can scale, combine, stack and bend them - so make this way different "curved" variants on the battlefield (no tabs/stands are needed for this, plus they are easy to store this way). PS. old squirmydad - you can of course remove that top bar and print marks in Hoard's final version - it's just some standard for my use and I forgot to turn it off, sorry.

AND HERE S MY SECOND ENTRY ..... i suppose that i will not be able to complete the set before the end of the month (probably this set will require months) ... dammit..... you can flip the image left-right to obtain extra pieces for building.... this set in my mind should be a sort of modular set.... the idea is that you can combine different pieces toghether... you can use scrap paper between two pieces to combine them.... probably i will make a guide about how to build them before the relase i have to add a floor tile too.... hope you guys like it i m having a lot of fun drawing it.... but buildings require so much time!!!! i can make tons of soldiers in the same time.... probably something like this will be nice along a serie of soviets and germans.... a starting point to make stalingrad....

[...] i m having a lot of fun drawing it.... but buildings require so much time!!!!... Yep, that's right! BTW these props are really cool - not only good overall design and details, but also quite universal (like historical period independent) and then suitable for modding, so 2-in-1 achieved!

And yet another one. There are many good military/war vehicles models, both 2D and 3D, but IMHO few wrecked, damaged, abandoned and rusty that scare old battlefields. Pikeman added just to scale check (to be removed)

OK, the last one (promis, cuz they might ban me eventually!) So some wrecked/destroyed supply wagon and cannon, ruins and forgotten, hidden in the jungle ruins of a mysterious temple (or fortress, who knows...?) Well I have a few more ideas - but I won't make it (it's almost midnight here) - so maybe I'll use/reforge them someday for a separate set?

I don't think it will ever come to that.
Hard to believe that less than a week ago, I thought this would be a small hoard. You all have made this a Hoard to Remember.

So-o-o-o, I feel I should mention that my little bit of fence is made up of images that are freely available (i.e. i-love-png.com and freepik.com) but the first one has no info on how attribution should be done and for the latter the info on the site doesn't seem to apply to this use case. Since the hoard has grown so nicely it might be best to leave my contribution off the official download. Or maybe adding the URL(s) to the base is enough? What do you guys think?

Explosion/suppression/bombardment markers; Wanted to do more, glad I got one thing done. Long time ago, I believe when GW first released the TTG Adeptus Titanicus, there were markers like these included that indicated combat activity. When you wanted to use your Titan you had to shake off the effects of the combat or suffer penalties depending on how many explosion markers were on your Titan. I think, it was a long time ago, but I have fond memories of the games.

I add url's if it is something I couldn't have taken a picture of myself. That fence is extremely well done. I would probably attribute it, if possible. The barrel and sheet metal would take me time to put together, but I could, so I probably would not attribute them

Sorry about the delays, I've been on too many rooftops this year and haven't been near my keyboard very much. I liked this one too.
