Can I no longer start my own topics? I've been hereon this forum under this new handle for awhile now.
Have the rules changed, or am I just getting old?
Well, that last one definitely.

Pam Grier Player Characters
My fiance is African American, and is becoming an avid role-playing player. Granted, stuff like this is scattered through the various hordes, but id like one I could go to forty-three favorite genres: space opera, Victorian Science Fiction and High Fantasy.

Also, how about a WW2 Ambushes topic. Commandos, partisans, light armored vehicles, Otto Skorzeny?

It is hard enough to keep the Hoards organized. I think we should keep the Hoards section as Staff-Originating only.
That isn't to say there aren't plenty of other sections where Members can start topics, which I welcome whole-heartedly.
I think most of us come to the forum, log in, check for obvious new posts on the home page, and then hit the New tab at the top. New posts are very easy to spot, regardless of the section they are posted in.
By the way, today is my day to get next year filled in ... maybe even close to finished.

Last year, we had an unusual setback with the loss of shep and moved the Procrastinators Hoard to January. In this wonderful post, I see a rationale to start doing this regularly Honestly, we could have a whole year of Pirates. Pirates - always YES Yep! Moon Camp - send your kids to the Moon this summer. Hmm, might be nteresting But IMHO maybe a more general aproach / with more Sci-Fi - not only as a summer camp for kids? Jungle Adventures, yes! Lost civilizations! Snakes and snakemen, reptiles and reptile men, riverboats, hunters, killer hippos, tribe of the cheetah people, big trees, swamps, way too many vines and hidden Nazi bunkers. YES! But maybe not only African Jungle - as South America and Asia are also interesting? Or Conquistadors searching for the City of GoldYES, YES, YES! --- Regarding the Procrastinators Horde - I always thought this should be a CLOSING topic for the past / previous year. Thus published at the beginning of the new year, so latecomers will have a looong holiday period to dig-out and finish their minis and/or projects. Or even EXTRA, 13th release kinda " 2021 Procrastinators Horde", but released in January 2022. Howgh! So, I am going to do that again, probably on-going

Desert Denizens is already placed, but here is a list of the other ideas given
Moon/Space Camp/Base Desert Outpost Knight Out - Around the Castle, Tournament based
Dark Powers - centering on the Forces of Darkness, not necessarily the Boss
Stellar Navies - I totally love the idea of starship battle games
Aftermath - Post-apocalyptic; ruins, mutants, gasoline tribes, vault dwellers, radioactive wastelands, defective robots Killer Doodles
Pirates
50th Anniversary of the last Moon Mission - I still think that doing a topic the month before the event is the way to go.
Jungle Adventures Lost Civilizations Pam Grier Player Characters - I don't know how many have read Piers Anthony's Geodyssey Series, but each book tells a story in settings from prehistory to the future. I can see Pam Grier from the Stone Age to the Stars. Timeless WWII Ambushes
I should have done this earlier. Making the List, helps me see inter-relations and spurs new ideas.
We made a commitment a while back to Around the Castle, and Tournament doesn't really get us into the realm of commonality, the ordinary stuff that doesn't get represented, but maybe it will give us a jump start for the next year.
Three space themes. If Aftermath gets grouped with Desert, three there. Lost Civilizations and Jungle Adventures could go together, though Lost Civilizations could also be a fourth Desert theme.
Honestly, I really like the concept of a Pam Grier Through Time hoard. Maybe next year we can do a Jackie Chan Through Time hoard

For "Around the Castle" it'd be fun if each artist sent a champion to the tournament to represent their noble house. So no Procrastinator's Hoard in January 2022, as we are in the middle of one right now, which puts the next Procrastinator Hoard in January of 2023. That's a long time to procrastinate.

Speaking of Procrastinating ... I am going to try to work on this after phone calls today I had something for the Procrastination Horde, but then found I couldn't do want I wanted to do with LibreOffice Draw, so I switched to Inkscape. I'm not so much procrastinating, rather learning a new application. Oh, and I need to get this done before I get back to my own models (other than kit-bashing Dave's that is...): I have been cataloging the shield patterns for the Dark Age/Viking groups in Finland and the Ålands, drawing them in SVG format, so that they can be used anywhere at any size. Most were easy, as they are just simple geometric shapes, even the one for Vanajan Sudet ( Old Wolves) (bottom right) wasn't too difficult. However, the one for Huskarlarna ( Housecarls/Huscarls), came out weird and wobbly. LibreOffice Draw can't make line thicknesses scaleable, so they are either single pixel wide (regardless of image size) or a fixed width in millimetres/inches and GIMP only does raster image formats. I've now got the hang of joining and chopping paths in Inkscape, so things are speeding up. Hopefully, for 2022, they is a suitable horde for scenery, or else my efforts will have to wait for next December (or I can stick them under my WH40K thread).

I know. I was hoping to have feedback earlier.
I actually was hoping to see different takes on this. Maybe I will change the first one to Extra-Terrestrial Colony.
What do you think?
I would like to see the November theme reflect more the 1970s TV look. The first one I was hoping to see more of a broader (movies and books) look.

Either/Or
Pick your favorite movie or book and go for it
EDIT --
We don't really have anything that screams FANTASY.
Other than January, nothing else is truly locked in, yet

I was hoping to have feedback earlier. I know I've been far less active here this past year than previously; so much time now seems to be eaten away chasing-up people who apparently now use "Covid" as a general excuse for not doing what they were supposed to have done, when that can't actually have been the case. That's aside from all the genuine problems the pandemic has created, worsened greatly in my corner of the universe by the fallout from Britain's leaving the EU at the start of last year. Bad and getting worse only in that regard still, sadly. Might be interesting to go with a general "Space Colonies" theme for one or other of the Moon Bases themes - so it could include elements like space stations, rocket ships, starships, etc., as well. On the lack of fantasy themes, perhaps something Faerie-associated might be an option? Not specifically 5e Feywild, following from the recent Wild Beyond The Witchlight book; something more general that could encompass Fey creatures from folklore as well as RPGs instead.

Thank you, sir. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Here in the States, Social Security offices have been closed down for two years, as well as Medicare and Medicaid offices. Due to Covid is a phrase that equates to We are just here to collect a paycheck, and we don't care about your situation at all.
FH 206 January - Desert Denizens FH 207 February - Forces of Darkness FH 208 March - WWII Ambushes FH 209 April - Jungle Adventures FH 210 May - Desert Outpost FH 211 June - Stellar Navies FH 212 July - Pirates! FH *** August - Papercuts 2022 FH 213 September - Fairy Folk FH 214 October - Knight Out - Around the Castle FH 215 November - Space Base FH 216 December - Aftermath - Post-Apocalyptic
Is this acceptable? Like I said, only January is set in stone
