"If you see the cloven track, pray that you don't see the hoof that made it. It may be the last thing you see."' Srathlorgn, Crimson scout Someone I know was doodling, and I glanced at her drawing. I thought to myself, that would make a cool mini. so I said to her "that would make a cool mini". She wasn't sure exactly what I meant, so I brought one in. This is what she made for me. Chris, designer of papierschnitzel (aka lightning ) told me once to get carried away more often. So I decided to get carried away with getting carried away, and tried to see how much stuff I could cram onto two 6x6 tiles. Deerman, Gidgetech tiles fatdragon trees and rocks, fatdragon, WWG Crimson Gillies, distrigillator insects, eddnic www.deviantart.com/gidgetechgidgetdoodles.tumblr.com

I spent half an hour working on this. I don't think the pose actually works as a back. But maybe I'm just having an off night.

Not great, but maybe acceptable EDIT -- That right arm is definitely not good, but maybe this version will give cowboyleland something to work on EDIT #2 --

That's better than anything I could do, and at arms length on a table I think it will do just fine. Thanks Vermin King.

You are very welcome. It is too great a figure to not have a back. And yes, I need to do more. When I opened Gimp, the only thing showing under Recent was Jesse's Aerodactyl... EDIT -- If it is acceptable, I think I will give it stronger borders EDIT #2 --

Vermin King, You nailed it! I knew it should be theoretically possible but my mind just wouldn't make the turn. I am very impressed! The only thing you didn't do was turn the hooves around. I will do that tomorrow if you don't get to it first.

Well, I didn't change the right or left (depending on view) foot since it is mostly at right angle to the viewer. On the left, I approximated what the bottom of the hoof should look like. Evidently not successfully

Here is my version of this obviously inspiring figure. I messed (not very successfully) with the feet. I turned the ear around and I felt he needed a tail.

I think I know what is wrong with the hoof on the one leg, I will check out my theory tonight. It's hard to believe that the one little hoof is such a pain.
I don't think the ear should be reversed, but it should have been shortened since we would be seeing it more from the edge

Seeing the back of the head means we should be seeing the back of the ear, no? It doesn't matter, people can pick the one they like.

The reason this has been difficult is that it is more of a 3/4 view. If his head were a minecraft guy, we would be looking at the corner of his head where the left side and back meet. It is hard not to be thinking front/back, but instead left-back/right-front. The far ear would be seen from the back, but this one would be a combination. I think I am going to do a search for photos of deer heads This is more of a back view, but you can still see the ear channel.

Also deer can rotate their ears around, so they could point in any direction.

True, but a deer wouldn't have one ear back in an aggressive stance, and the other ear forward in either a placid or listening stance.
Speaking from experience, a deer can be aggressive and still have its ears forward. Got kicked by one once when I was being stupid
