Well, my son and daughter-in-law did not have coinciding days off this last weekend, so we are still 'looking forward' to our holiday get-together. Sub-zero temps with 50 mph winds and a little bit of snow had me worried a bit about one of the feral cats, Urchin Girl. So, I have had a house guest, living in my bathroom (away from the other cats). She is probably going to be upset when the temperature gets above freezing and she gets evicted.

For Christmas I had a house full of sickies so I made everyone chinese food for a feel good Christmas meal.

Were you counted among the sickies?
What Chinese dishes did you serve?

My daughter hosts Christmas eve and morning (we sleep over), while we host Christmas dinner. Bottom line: no present mess to clean up (she's so organized there was no present mess at her house). Unfortunately, we paid for it with three and a half dishwasher loads. Took all day on Boxing Day. Great fun, great family time...and...my daughter said her mom's Christmas dinner was the best ever (especially the Yorkshire pudding). And I must say my chestnut and porcini mushroom risotto was really delicious.

I am now on my fourth eviction of Urchin. We are doing Christmas tomorrow, the only day for the next ten that both my son and daughter-in-law are off simultaneously

Were you counted among the sickies? What Chinese dishes did you serve? I was the only non-sick attendee so I did all of the cooking. I made Orange chicken, Mongolian beef, pork potstickers, and white rice. And a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.

Sounds delicious. On Christmas, I had chicken parmesan, rotini pasta and peas. For dessert, I had apple cinnamon povitica
Urchin is getting angry with me not letting her back in

I made a full turkey dinner but we also had vegan "meat pie" and "samosas". The samosas were really good. It was the first "full house" where I hosted Christmas again for my family since COVID started and it was really fun. I missed it.

Well, trying again tomorrow night for Christmas, 2022. Gonna be awkward. My daughter-in-law's sister was having 'actual' Christmas with some of her step-sisters and brothers. Her step-sister had been fighting pneumonia for two weeks, and ended up falling to the floor, dead in five minutes. Her fiance and two kids were there. I hope no one says or does anything that will cause a blow-up. It is so hard to know what to say or do. Anything can be the wrong thing.
Send us some positive vibes, and I wouldn't say 'no' to a couple prayers.
