UPDATE 30th November 2017:Hello all, I noticed yesterday that Pinnacle have recently switched to a new Forum and archived the old one. In the process, the links to the Space 1889 figures have been lost. Equally, I notice many of the links here are broken. To this end, I've put them all in a single PDF and put it in my Deviant Art gallery for safe keeping. You can grab a copy here: scarecrovv.deviantart.com/art/Space1889-Paper-Minis-717536955Enjoy, Wayne ORIGINAL MESSAGE:I recently discovered Savage Worlds and whilst I'm not one of those that thinks it's the greatest thing to happen to gaming ever, I do think it's pretty cool. Even more recently I discovered that the 'Space:1889 Red Sands' campaign is on it's way towards the end of the year. In anticipation I started doing some minis. I'll post what I have here and I'll add more when I discover what's needed for the campaign. Crow

Excellent! Now do the backsides.

Heh. I tend not to bother with backsides anymore. They're time consuming and turn pleasure into a chore. Also, I play mainly D&D 4, Star Wars SAGA and Savage Worlds where facing isn't an issue. So I tend to just have them face left or right and mirror them.

*sigh* I know exactly what you mean, Sith. I feel the same, but doing backs is really time consuming and they really don't need them. Maybe I'll cave and do them anyway. In the meantime, I guess if folks wanted to do their own backs, there's nothing stopping them. Crow Ps - still brings a tear to my eye to see someone else making my minis

Okay then, still waiting for Red Sands, I decided to run the adventure, 'On Gossamer Wings' from the Space:1889 rulebook, concerning a manned mission to the dark side of the moon. In order to do this, I needed to knock up some Selenite minis. I figured it might be nice to make them available to anyone else interested in visiting the moon. Click on the image to download the PDF. If you are, I heartily recommend this superb re-write of the adventure because the original is a little railroady, sidelining the players in favour of the main NPC. Find the rewrite here: www.drpetrov.com/1889/goss.htmRegards Crow PS - Sorry, Sith, mate. Mirrored. No backs

Very nicely done set. I'm not going to nag about the backs. If it makes fun into a chore then it takes the fun out of creating them, and probably means less figures in the end.

Hear Hear! Nice variety - creates a community, not just targets for tactical combat.

Ah. no. Not seen the film. not since I was little anyway (would love to at the moment, actually).
He's known as a 'Shining One'. These fellas eat the phosphorescent mushrooms to create corrosive acids.
From the scenario re-write:
The "Shining Ones" are the miners of the Selenite community. They perform this task by eating the green glow-fungus, whose interiors are highly acidic and not digestible by any other caste. This acidic material is contained in a second stomach, where it's acidity is enhanced by the addition of stomach acids. When engaged in mining, this acid is vomited onto the surface to be mined. The acid will slowly eat away at and soften rock, which can then be chewed away by the miner's mandibles.
I like the fact that they are diverse now. In the original adventure they were indistinguishable, but Dr Petrov (who re-wrote the adventure) created a community that, whilst lacking in individuality, still consisted of diverse types.
The fellas in robes are the retainers of knowledge. I don't think they're supposed to wear robes (the fact that Selenites do not understand clothing is mentioned in the adventure), but I felt they needed something to make them stand out and look more important than the others. Equally, I gave the winged Scout a leather flying hat.
Crow
-EDIT- Wow! I just Googled the movie and it seems as if the 1889 adventure is a direct steal. The movie has Selenites that are sort of insecty and they even fight a giant caterpiller or, 'Moon Calf'!

Well, here's Kronos. He appears to be the main villain in Pinnacle's Red Sands campaign: "Something, something, Dark Side!"I've not added a link yet as I'll add him and his chums to the 'third wave' I currently have in progress. Crow

These are excellent, really beautiful. I've been looking for figures to use with Shadowsea. Even though that game's setting is more like renaissance meets fantasy, I think the rules will work right with your victorian characters too!

Y'know what? I just might do backs for all these. It is the kind of low pressure nearly mindless exercise I like from time to time. Only been three weeks since I did all the western backs, but it is such an easy way to get brownie points from you lot it is hard to resist. I think I may have even started one or two when the first of these were posted.

I love these guys too. I may have to see about bringing in a party of these explorers into my Fantasy game world for a brief appearance.

P.S. Yes, doing backs can seems like a chore. I often have a full set of Imperfect People front ink done and sitting around for weeks (or even months) before I work up the gumption to do the backs.

Oh yeah, never noticed that. Good catch The lines are, if I remember correctly, 6 and 10 pixels at 300dpi and about 80% hardness. Something like that. Crow

OK, I've been using the 3pix blurry brush, but it seems fat. Maybe I need to adjust the dpi (if I figure out how). Hope I don't mess these up too bad for you.

So I deleted my previous version because this is the version with the "correction" that Scarecrow called a "good catch" I would have left the post but I couldn't figure out how to delete the attachment without deleting the whole thing. No big loss, just a disjointed conversation. I might do more of these tonight. Originals and mods all added to site; www.onemonk.com/guest-dl.html

BTW ... I think it is a good call not to make changes to profile figures.

Actually, I started to do a few, but I'm getting busy at work and some old friends from high school are getting away for a "gaming retreat" in a few weeks where I'm GM so it may be a little while before I'm back to them again, but you're right, profiles bug me way less than double-fronts.

Preview won't show me the attachment . . . is this it? Edit: Yep, it is! As I said in what I am about to delete above, I did the profiles (I'm a lefty but I can't buy THAT many south paws) but some worked better than others. Use the ones you like, dump the ones you don't.
